Your really need a heavier sidecar for this bike or to add ballist. If you are going to add balist then you need to make sure that the sidecar is strong enough to handle the ballist and still leave a saftey margin. There are some versions of the Velorex that are suppose to be up to the task but I have my doubts.
We make three models of sidecars starting with the Kenna at only $2495 to our Liberator at $10K. We are also a dealer for Champion sidecars and the USA importer of Ural sidecars all of which can be seen on our web site www.dauntlessmotors.com.
For your bike we also have reverse for the transmission, triple tree's to lower steering effort and automotive tires that will fit on your stock rims.
You might also look into a sidecar class www.esc.org and or purchase the book "Driving a sidecar outfit" which can be purchased many different places including from us.
Let me know if you have any questions at all.

The 562 Velorex is too light of a sidecar for a large bike. It has been done but the results are not good. Even if ballast is added to th ehack to make up the diference itdoes not make for a real goo drig. Go heavier. Ural sidecars are a goo dbet for the money and of course there are some decnt used hacks around if you shop a little.
Download USCA Co founder,Hal Kendall's books that are offered right here for free. These have some great information in them and will help to answer many of your questions. There is a link to the section that has these books in my signature below.
Jay,
What do the new Single and double wide Kennas weigh?
The brochure specifications make no mention of weight.

I just saw a SC from Motorvation colour-matched to a Sporty. Looked pretty tasty. No offense- but I think a Ural might look a little clunky on a Sportster. Might want to check out the triple tree thing, though...
I've put the URALS on some Sportys 1000cc and up and I think they look pretty sharp. Especially when fitted with Harley lights and Harley wheels. I may have a couple pix in my Albums here.

Aesthetics is a personal choice but to me a Ural looks just fine on a sportster. Makes for a pretty stable rig too. There is one guy in thsi area who has a Ural on an FLT that is a very nice looking rig. Harley Sidecar Fender and wheel looks liek it is susposed to be there. He also milled a lot of billet brackets and stuuf to mount lights etc. Really nice! Only problem is the guy hardly rides the darn thing...LOL.
Thanks to those who responded. I have contacted Jay at Dauntless for assistance choosing something appropriate. Cheers, Terry
I have a 562 mounted on a kawi, nomad, I believe to be heavier that a RK, anyhow, I'm running 93# of ballast and it's a scary SOB On right turns crown just right, I'm now going to mount 125# plate and try that. It's fun and I'm sure it will be fine when I work out the Ballast deal. According to the formula here 1/3 of M/C weight it needs 240 1/2, so if understand correctly 154(car weight) 125#(ballast is 279# 38.5# over recommend. So 86# would be the # on the dry weight? 729# I'm not that easy to scare, that is the weight of a 1991 flhs(722#) which the RK replaced, and the kaw is liquid cooled. So I'm damned confused.
