Triple tree degree & supplier?
I want to install new triple trees on my 06 HD Ultra to improve the steering once I reinstall the Formula II sidecar.
What degree should I get?
Where should I get them?

I have Pete's triple tree on my rig and I'm very happy with it.
I have a 5 degree triple tree on my rig from DMC and its almost like having "Power steering".
I've used the Liberty 5 degree trees with good results. You don't need a damper with these trees.
The OEM Harley trike trees are used by some. Less expensive. Harley still uses the steering damper with these so they may have a lessor degree of change from stock.

The feel of power steering is very appealing following my first experience with this sidecar on my H.D. The $1000 + investment in a pair of triple trees and work involved in putting them on does not.
I have found this is like anything else...................if you want to dance you gott'a pay the fiddler.

I installed the Liberty trees. They work quite well and they did take a bit of time to install because "since I am in here, I might as well......."
Well worth it, though..... have you tried to play the fiddle? ...... not so easy.....

Looks like Liberty Trees are the favorite pick here. I would have thought there would be many different brands suggested to use. I have never tried to play fiddle but I may learn to install the trees if my local bike mechanic hits me with an expensive installation quote. The worst part I think would be getting the entire fairing off the Ultra.

Toyman, we have no experience with an Ultra, but we installed a 5* tree on our former Sportster rig from Hawg Halters over in Georgia with good results: http://www.hawghalters.com/

I have been considering new trees too but I'd like to get the adjustable type. Anyone know if such a thing is available for a 2008 Road King? I have found them for older models but not mine.
No adjustable tree's are made, the way the fairing is done on your bike it would take quite a bit of work just to get to the tree's to adjust them. If you have a real need to be able to adjust the trail then a leading link can be built that way.
BTW, we of course also offer tree's current price is $895

The Tri-glide trees are about half the cost, just as much work, and don't quite get the job done. So why do it twice, don't ask me how I know this 🙂
Thanks for the info. I'm not commited to total sidecar use on my bike yet but if I do I'll look DMC up.

I know you stated to not ask but inquiring minds must ask.................why don't they get the job done? I need to cancel my order if they don't.
I have the triglide trees. Easy install and easy steering. I did not use the HD steering damper but I have no need for one. Cheapest bang for the buck for a new triple tree. I will admit I have no comparison but it works for me.
I put the triglide trees on a 03 Electra Glide and they work great without a damper. Removing the head bearing races was the biggest problem with the whole process. I used my stock forks and am not sure if the triglide forks would be worth the cost involved.
