Wife has a 2017 Indian , with a Hannigan attached. Thing ois to make it look vintage , they put on a regular MC tire. Good brand. Problem is that cord was showing at 3000 miles. Anyhow made it safe to help, then home . found a Shinko Block SC tire. Fixed the problem for the short haul. Only problem is that they do not have a reputation for lasting very many miles. I have been searching for a replacement to keep on hand. I can find lots of 18 & 19 inch tires. Ours came with a 130 /90/16. Tried Coker and was told their tires not made for the modern MC.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is not the tire, you have an alignment issue.
I have installed alignment instructions

COKER TIRE
COKER TIRE HAS WHAT YOU WANT I USE EXCELSIOR STEEL BELTED RADIALS. I HAVE THOUSANDS OF MILES ON THEM.
I ALSO USE THEM ON BIKE ( HD) FRONT AND BACK. THESE ARE CAR TIRES FOR RESTORED CARS. THEY ALSO MAKE OLDER DESIGN MC TIRES.
THIS WILL GET YOU THE LOOK YOU WANT, BUT SIDECAR TIRES SHOULD LAST WAY MORE THAN THE FRONT AND REAR TIRES I GET IN EXCESS OF 25,000 MILES ON THE SIDECAR TIRE.
YOUR SHORT TIRE LIFE SHOWS A BAD ALIGNMET OR PERHAPS BAD WHEEL BEARINGS YOU MUST FIX THIS FIRST.

Thanks for the input. I had followed the Hannigan instructions. The settings were dead on. Problem was with the type of tire. The MC tire has a arc profile which will cause it to wear on the highest p[oint. Same as if it was a over inflated tire. The blocked tire ( side car tire) was designed to distribute the wear point across the surface. The are several name brand variations , that I have found. Problem the 16 inch version are tough to find.

I really appreciate the input. I had called Coker , and was told that they make their tires for the classic/ vintage market. Their tires were not designed for the modern motorcycle. With your statement , I will be going back to Coker for a second look.
You may have saved me a lot of head aches . Thanks again.

YOU NEED TO GET ON THEIR WEB SITE. THE TIRES I HAVE BEEN USING FOR MANY YEARS ARE THE EXCELSIOR SPORT RADIAL THIS IS A MODERN STEEL BELTED RADIAL TIRE MADE IN THE USA. IT HAS A 16" RIM SIZE AND FITS THE HD FACTORY 16" RIMS
I USE THE 500R16 ON THE FRONT AND SIDECAR AND THE 550R16 ON THE BACK THEY MAKE WIDER VERSIONS IF YOUR BIKE USES WIDER TIRES. LOOK THEM UP AND GET THE ONES THAT MOST CLOSELY MATCH YOUR STOCK TIRES. THE OUTSIDE DIAMETER AND THE MAXIMUM
WIDTH. ONLY USE THESE TIRES IF THE BIKE HAS THE SIDECAR ATTACHED, THEY ARE NOT SAFE ON A PLAIN MOTORCYCLE BECAUSE OF THE MORE SQUARE PROFILE. THE LAST REAR TIRE I CHANGED AT 19,000 MILES. YOU MUST USE A MOTORCYCLE TUBE WITH THESE TIRES.

Sidecar Dave - are you saying you got 19,00 miles from the rear Excelsior Stahl sport radial, while pushing a sidecar?  what pressure are you running?

also, what are you running for toe-in?  I am trying to optimize drive tire life on my '87 FLHTP with HD chair.

I think I need to run a 500R16 on the rear because I still have the wide belt - i don't believe the 550R16 will clear.  I have a spare wheel (cast) that I might mount one tubeless on ,and monitor for loss of pressure.

I found a couple Ford guys running these tubeless successfully.

Besides something being not set up right. Shinko makes a tire that should work in your size. I run them on my FLTC and can pull 25000 mi out of the front one. You should get that much  more on the sidecar. Right now I have about 45000 mi on the sidecar tire and still looks good.

Classic 240. I started using them for the classic look when Yokohama were making them.
