........... That is what you will see Dave Hough do in the pictures in the "Yellow Book" - I think it is called The Sidecar Training Manual. I think it is available from the USCA bookstore on this forum. It is a good resource........

I will check in here, for the book by David Hough. Amazon sells it for $150, and that’s a little steep for me!!

I went to the DMC website and found the book for $34.95. I saw that $150 offering and was shocked.

I've been hearing about the dreaded headshake since I first started thinking about a sidecar. I fully expected headshake (along with flying the car) since my first ride. Never happened. I hung a Hannigan GTL on the Goldwing. I assume the weight of the car is what keeps it from flying. However, I have never had headshake on the rig at any speed.

Not all rigs will exhibit headshake. If you notice it come on after not having it before the first place to check would be tire air pressures.

As far as lifting the car goes ,, well it can be done with your outfit but it takes some effort to do so. You are right in that the weight of the sidecar does come into play.

There is some very good information here. Wish I had know some of this when I got my first rig (Royal Enfield/Kozi Rocket). Since I bought my rig in pieces in two states and put it together myself in another state, it was quite a learning process. What the heck, after three rigs and 20,000 miles are so I'm still learning. Thanks to all who have the patience to help us neophytes (think that means new guys) along.

Thank, Claude. I keep an eye on my tire pressure all around so, hopefully, I won't have a problem there. I've seen YouTube of a guy flying the car on rig exactly like mine so I know it can be done. But, it ain't gonna be done by me if I can help it, lol.

Regards,

Jeff
