sidecar frame repairs needed
I live in Northwest Arkansas (Springdale, Fayetteville area) and am looking for someone who could inspect my rig's frame and alignment. I had an accident just before Thanksgiving. My rig is a 1975 BMW R90 /6 with a CJ sidecar attached. I bought this rig as is over two years ago. After this accident, it looks to me like the sidecar/frame is not aligned. The nearest Ural dealer said he could only replace the sidecar, which I understand his position. Is there anyone out there who could give me an estimate (inspection) of the rig that isn't 2+ hours away? The insurance will pay to have the rig towed to a repair shop to be inspected, but they aren't going to send it over 3 or 4 hours away I'm sure as it would likely cost more to do that than to just total the rig. And I can't ride it that far as it isn't handling well. Thanks to any who can help.

I can't recommend anyone close by but would like to know more about the impact.
Looks like the sidecar wheel got bumped under a bit and the lower mounts on the bike also shifted or bent.
I'd loosen it all up and get out a straight edge and square. Look for stressed areas and determine what needs to be bent back and/or reinforced.
Nice rig by the way, always wanted a /6.

i live in tulsa i could help you out.
It looks perfectly fixable. get some opinion from sidecar savy folks in your area.
It may be easier than you think.

Sorry to hear of you mishap, Roy. Sorry we're too far off to get together on a weekend to help re-align your rig. There are a couple of guys over in the Mountain View/Greer's Ferry Lake area that might can help, but that's still too far away for a Saturday session.
