New GL1800 rig car tire question
Steven
I've run the Hankook 195/55/16 and Bridgestone 195/55/16 from tire rack. The Bridgestone gave the best mileage.

It is many tires for GL1800. Lot less for 1500.

I run a Bridgestone Potenza 195/55/16 from Tire Rack and get great mileage. The tire runs cool even when pulling an Aspen camper.
We have also ran a 205 50 16 and if you tie back the inner plastic fender you can even fit a 215 50 16 tire on the rear.

That's good to hear because I also tow an Aspen sometimes! What sort of mileage do you get out of a rear tire? What do you run up front?
The last rear tire gave me over 30k miles. I run a Michelin Pilot Active 130/70/18 rear motorcycle tire on the front with the rotation reversed.

I have used a 195/55R-16 Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid, then a Bridgestone Blizzak WS60FZ, 195/55R16 87R, and finally a 195/55R-16 Firestone Precision Touring which is on the rear now. The Bridgestone Potenza and the Firestone Precision worked very well and gave good mileage. The Bridgestone Blizzak is a good snow tire, but wore out very quickly. My next tire will be either the Potenza or the Potenza. These are on a 2003 GW with Champion Escort rig.
I also used the Bridgestone Potenza on my 2002 GL1800, no sidecar, with great results.
I ended up trying the Bridgestone drive guard run flat 195/55R16 and it works great solo. The new hannigan rig should go on next week if all goes well.
