Hi All,
I've returned to a hack after 30 years (1 season back then). I just had a Hannigan Conde attached to my '04 K12RS at the Hannigan shop. I had the Steerlite mod added to the telelever front. K12 RS bars are narrow. While it's not excessive effort I'm experiencing some numbness due to the additional pressure required over solo bike operation. I wonder if a set of barbacks would add some leverage to the overall steering effort?
One manufacturer advertises a bar angle change to relieve some of the numbness, and I'm thinking a bit more upright position would relieve wrist angle as well.

Many hackers change bars for easier steering and a more comfortable grip angle. Many of the Beemers have very narrow bars which work fine with a leaning solo bike but wear on the shoulders and forearms when a sidecar is added to the mix.

I found Speigler offers a tubular handlebar conversion kit from LSL. I think that is the direction I will take. I'll report back when it's done.

Got the LSL kit from Spiegler installed, what a difference! It uses a superbike style bar that is wider and has less angle than the BMW RS bars. My wrists are now straight and the pull back and width give the steering a much lighter feel.

This shows the difference in angle and width from the stock bar. Since the kit comes with a longer brake hose from the master cylinder and requires brake bleeding, I went ahead and replaced all the lines with Spiegler's.

Hey, that does look much more "user friendly" for a rig. Very nice.
