Hi folks. I have been searching for a while for a Harley or Sidecar rig, but have not found exactly what I want. Have been looking for a car for my 1967 FLH to no avail.

My knowledge of post 79 HD sidecars is nil, so I need some input. I found a 1980 HD sidecar and am wondering what years this will fit. Specifically for FLH / Electraglide bikes. I found a nice 1988 Electraglide and wondered if the 1980 sidecar would fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pickup a Harley sidecar manual on eBay. Lots of them available.

I am not an expert, but I think the main difference between the newer TLE sidecars and the older fiberglass HD sidecars are the mounts. The newer ones have a clevis on the bike side mount and rod end on the sidecar side. The older mounts are a threaded type. The upper mount is also different between the newer and older models. I don't know exactly what year things changed, but I think the 1988 bike needs a TLE sidecar for an easy, bolt together set up. The pictures show a 1996 TLE and the newer style mounts. Older sidecars have been adapted to newer bikes but it may take some cutting and welding. Also, there is a 68 HD sidecar on ebay right now, maybe that one would work for your 67 FLH.
