We have a 2001 Suzuki Intruder 1500 LC and were looking at getting a sidecar (prefer a 2 seater) How well is this bike suited for a sidecar?? Does it need any fork work or anything else to manage it?? Anyone know the mounting points? Thanks

I like the retro look of the 1500. I think it would be great with a sidecar.

Your bike will work fine with a sidecar. Sidecar mounting points are easily accessable. For a double wide I would consider raked triple trees to overcome the heavy steering due to excessive rake and trail of (most) Japanese cruisers.
The rear shocks will also need upgrading (even if new). Use a heavier viscosity fork oil and you should be good to go hackin'.

So what is the cost of new rear shocks and upgrading the front end??

Check with the vendors.
Progressive Suspension about the shocks.
Perhaps Side Effects about modified trees.
Unit has the leading links.

Easiest way is to search for dealers on the net and compare prices.

Kramer,
These mids will certainly make things better for your rig and you but you can work up to them if you don't want to shell out the bucks initially. This is one of the nice things about sidecars, most are a work in progress.

We make a mounting kit for this bike, It is one of the simplest bikes to mount a sidecar to. Our Double Kenna is the least expensive two seat sidecar on the market. With mounts for your bike it is $3495
