I actually did look at the shocks... half way expecting to find BOTH air shocks.

BTW. Can't remember if I told you all ready. But Progressive confirmed those are a 5 position shock.

Oh, Cal.....what you didn't say in your post above, is whether both shocks on your bike are currently air chocks, or as I described, one air shocks, and one coil-over shocks.

So, when you actually looked at the shocks, what did you find ?????????

OEM set up. One air, one coil over.

Oh, Cal...That looks like it should do the job just fine, so....do it !

In my younger days, I just muscled the fork springs down, and screwed on the fork cap, but I was a Popeye in my younger days.

Does anyone have the Honda fork spring tool?  I  have questions and need some measurements please.

I've decided to hone my machinist skills at my friends machine shop and make something along the lines of the Honda tool.

Yes I know the wooden version would be easier. But it's not always about easy. I'm all ready having a ball gathering material and designing my version,,,lol.

Not an exact copy of the Honda tool. But I think it will work.

Now I just need to do some finish filing and sanding before paint.

Can't wait to try it out and see if it goes flying off there,,,lol.

You mentioned earlier in the thread that you need a convertible top to keep the pup from roasting.  I ran across this ad.  The guy has multiple tops for CSC sidecars. Ad says $155 each

He says in the ad that there are different versions of the bodies so talk with him and make sure you get one that works.

At very least count the number of snaps and maybe measure the distance between them.  Not sure what else you can do unless your near New Port Richey FL and could stop by.

Thanks for the link Drew.

That's Mark from Florida-sidecar. I talked to him last year about a top. At that time he wasn't willing to ship one, I guess in case it didn't fit. Said I had to come there to try it out. Well I'm near St. Louis. So....

I just got on his  "New website". He says he closed down his shop in June because of constant rent increase. So I don't know if he'd be willing to ship even if I said I'd still take it with a no return deal. I'd just have to talk to him.

But now I got a "Well dam" deal going.  I just got my Progressive shocks and fork spring's. Had money put back to rebuild the forks. Now my truck battery is shooting craps. So there goes that money. I can't get ahead,,,lol. Good thing I got all winter.

Cal, you first have to learn, it is not a "well dam" moment....it is a "well...dang it" thing.

Secondly, I have sent an e-mail to Mark at Florida Sidecar Products (many of us have bought things from him in the past), and I asked him if he is willing to ship that Calif Friendship l convertible top and stays/arms to the St. Louis, Misery area.....and if so...I will buy that for you as a gift.

I am awaiting a reply from Mark, and if he says YES, then PM me your shipping address, and we can get this taken care of.

Correction: This is not a gift for YOU...it will be a gift for Sidecar Willie, or...Sir Wilton, the smallest dog from the House of Cal.

Well..... Dang it. Miles. I don't know what to say.

I've never met anyone as kind as generous as you. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but you've literately just made me cry,,,,lol. Poor Wilton don't know what's going on. I don't know what I've done to deserve someone like you to come into my life. But I do believe in good karma. And I do try to help others when I can. In my case it's not financially. But I do have other things to offer. I help when I can.

I'm speechless right now. I gotta go blow my nose.

Dang it, Cal.....it is supposed to be Sidecar Willie that is crying over what will hopefully be a new roof on his mobile dawg haus.

Let's keep this straight, this gift will be for Sir Wilton, the smallest dog from the House of Cal.

All I have to do is say the word Goldwing and Wilton gets excited heads for the garage. He was just asleep in my lap. I asked him if he wanted a roof for his Goldwing and he jumped right up,,,lol.

This really is "HIS" sidecar. Look at the traction tape he had me put on there. Last winter when I got this I had the body off just sitting in the floor. I was training him to get in and out of it. He decided he could just jump right in and stick the landing in the seat. No need to use anything. Just clear the body and all. Well this spring when I put the body on it's quite a bit higher and he can't clear it. So I put the traction tape on there for him. He's still working on it though,,,lol.

You can also see the makeshift shade curtain I put on there to keep the sun off him. I've had a lot of people ask what's that for,,,lol.

It's so much fun to see people's reactions when they see him. Even grown men look and point. Then give a thumbs up. Of course I ride around grinning ear to ear. People probably think I'm some kind of nut.

Okay, Cal.....Caretaker of Sidecar Willie.....aka, Sir Wilton from the House of Cal.............

Mark from Florida Sidecar Products is now shipping the California Friendship l convertible top w/bows to you. He sent me an invoice, it has been paid in full, and he has sent me a reply e-mail saying the package will go out in tomorrows mail.

This will hopefully be the solution, so you no longer have to call him Saddlebag Willie, and he can henceforth be known as... Sidecar Willie

He said he's tired tired of hiding from the sun in places like the saddle bag and cooler.  I told him you got him a top. He said he'll keep an eye out for it.

Not to be confused with Boxcar Willie?

That was his Grampa,,,lol.

You're the first person to at least mention the connection. That is where I got the name though,,,lol. Sounded right.

I've seen other people put there dogs name on the sidecar somewhere. I thought about putting "Sidecar Willie" on there. IDK? Too goofy you guys think?
