I have a 1999 Valk Interstate and need a Sidecar so my puppy can ride along. Will travel anywhere east of the Mississippi to pick up if the deal and sidecar is good.

A couple of things to keep in mind, The Valkyrie is a very long bike, many companies including mine build the sidecar for this bike with a longer frame. So you will want a sidecar built for a GL1500 or GL1800 or of course a Valkyrie.
We make several sidecars that will work with your bike, Our Kenna is the least expensive the M72C or M72CX are the most popular. We can also help you with mounting hardware for your bike should you find a used sidecars. If you are going to go with a used sidecar feel free to contact me BEFORE you buy it as some sidecars can never be made safe for your bike, others by the time you make them safe may not be a good deal. We also offer triple tree's to lower the steering effort with the sidecar

Here's a Kenna double wide we mounted to a Valk. Good match, great handling (and room for more dogs than the Single).

Yeah, I would let him ride on the back, but he would forget to hold on.

Thanks for the offer and your website info, I will check it out.

I notice you are in WA which is a ways away, do you ship and how hard would it be to install?

If I ride the bike to you -- how long would it take to put it on?

I have never seen a modern sidecar mounted bike close up, are they bolted on or is there some sort of quick release that would allow me to take it off when I wanted to?

We can ship the sidecar to you for you to install or we can install it here. It takes 1-2 days to install depending on options such as the triple tree's for lighter steering. If you send me an email request to jay@dmcsidecars.com I will send you more information on installing the sidecar on your bike. We do have a Valkyrie due into the shop for a sidecar in July if you wanted to see how it is all done. We are taking orders for sidecar deliveries the end of July at this time.
One nice thing about your Valkyrie is you can run an automotive tire on the back of the bike with out the need for a custom wheel.

If you do not modify the steering and you do not run an automotive tire on the rear of the bike, the sidecar can come on or off in about 10 minutes however you have a big heavy bike and the sidecar and a sidecar with out a bike attached is not very easy to move around. Chances are you will not be taking the sidecar on and off other then for major service on the bike. Also, chances are you will be having so much fun with the sidecar that you will not want to take it on and off.

Here is a shot of my old Valkyrie without the sidecar body, just to give you an idea of how it mounts.

This is a Ural sidecar frame with a subframe from Jay at Dauntless. Everything bolts on. Word of warning, if your Valkyrie has one of R&M's belly tanks under it, as many do, it will interfere with the subframe. In that case you will want to take the bike to Jay or another installer who can modify the mount.

This is new and I just want to knwo what the options are.

I am trying to find a rig I can try out to get a feel for it before I proceed.

I do know I alreayd have a timing issue, I will be in the US in June but then I have to go mback to the Middle East before July -- will have to work things out if I want to proceed to get the sidecar to the bike or bike to the side car.
