A Velorex is way to light of a sidecar for your bike. I know of at least one person who died due to a Velorex being on a similar Guzzi. BTW, we offer bike specific NOT universal mounts for your bike as well as new sidecars starting at only $3695 for our Kenna with the bike specific mounts or our M72C sidecar at $4995. We own and ride Guzzi's and are life members of the owners club.

I have heard the person mentioned was a sidecar novice driving his wife's rig trying to keep up with other Guzzi riders on solo bikes. Driver error.
Unfortunate things happen when one overdrives their limitations with 3 wheeled vehicles. That's why I was the frontrunner of Sidecar and Trike Endorsement in the State of Washington. It made some folks unhappy but has saved lives of others.
The new Velorex Tour models work well with the California Stone, Titanium, EV models using sub-frame brackets. I've toured with a Canadian friend who has one that we set up when we had our shop in Washington. He was quite pleased with the combo.
I've installed and like the Kenna models too, but the Velo is prettier.

The person who died had over 30 years of sidecar riding and even did it for a living for several years he owned the Hack Shack in Seattle. He died while riding on a bike set up by the afore mentioned poster as we would not mount the Velorex to the bike as we knew it would be dangerous. The person who died was the second owner of the rig. He pruchased the Guzzi at our sugestion but then decieded that he really liked the looks of the Velorex and wanted us to to install one. We were a Velorex dealer at the time. We would not so he went to the afore mentioned shop. The first owner once he picked up the bike from the afore mentioned poster wanted us to fix the heavy steering. We told him we would not as we knew it was not a safe match up. We told him to take it back to the installer. He was told that they do not do steering modifications. The new Velorex is still the same basic frame with an extra brace added poorly in order to keep using the poorly designed "universal" mounts and sliding lower rear mount which almost always slips. It still has a tiny drum brake which does not play well with modern disk brakes so most people do not hook it up as was the case with the Guzzi in question.
The Kenna does come with bike specific not "Universal" mounting hardware. it also has an option for a disk brake which does work with modern bikes. It has a very robust frame and no "universal" known to constantly slip mounts. We also offer the M72 type sidecars for people who want a different look.
We have a combined over 100 years of sidecar experiance on staff and know that saftey must come before sales as such we turn down many sales of sidecar mounts for mounting Velorex sidecars on bike that our experiance is that it would not be a safe match up.

Thanks for the sound advice. It looks like I have some serious homework to do here. Obviously I should start with training. I am a experienced rider with no knowledge of side car rigs.
Thanks again!
