Are there any Iron Butt members who have graduated to sidecars interested in doing the UCCC ride from Key West to Prudhoe Bay? If so please contact me.

I have completed the UCC Challenge in two out of three attempts (mechanical failure once). Four times rider to Alaska on two and three wheels. Would like to make one more UCCC run with one or three experienced sidecarists who welcome a Challenge.

Any sidecarist/Iron Butt rider up for the challenge? Let's talk.

I don't plan on a UCCC run but planning on a Prudhoe Bay run next summer. Among other spots North.

Planning a trip to Prudhoe Bay nest year too... but just for the fun of it, enjoying my ride! (like we did this year from AZ to St Pierre & Miquelon).

The UCCC can start at either the southern or the northern terminal. Once you reach Prudhoe Bay next summer, get two witnesses, then ride south until you reach Key West.

The UCCC run is roughly 6500 miles one way. You have 30 days to complete it. It is not a speed race but an endurance ride. Ride five days, rest one to wash and rinse. Repeat...  Your miles per hour are much lower north of Dawson Creek than they are south of the CA/USA border, but you have more daylight the further north you go. Because of wild animals, cracked asphalt and frost heaves, riding after dark escalates any danger.

According to the Iron Butt registry, the certified UCCC rider's mileage ranged from 5565 to over 8000 miles, with an average of 6321 miles. It all depends on which route you take and which city you wish to visit along the way.

Just for clarification, the IBA UCC is Ultimate Coast to Coast...Key West to Prudhoe Bay, or the other direction.

The IBA UCCC is a back-to-back UCC, so it is Key West to Pridhoe Bay, then Prudhoe Bay to Key West,.....or.....Prudhoe Bay to Key West, then Key West to Prudhoe Bay.

MY point is, a UCC is a single trip from Key West to Prudhoe Bay (other start at the other end, and go to the other end), whereas an UCCC is back-to-back trips.

Which means, I now have to ask Jan, the OP.....are you wanting to do...and find fellow sidecarists for...a UCC.....or a UCCC ?

As a 40 years member of the IBA, I can literally say...Been There/Done That

Oh, and it just occurred to me.....what you wankers need to do, is an USCCC, or a USCCCC.

That is an Ultimate SideCar Coast to Coast, or...Ultimate SideCar Coast to Coast to Coast.

'twas 21 years ago, in 2003, that whilst a large group of other riders were do, or attempting to do, a 50cc, or the 100ccc from San Diego to Jacksonville, or the other way around....at the same time I did the very first 200ccccc...Coast to Coast 4 times, in under 8 days.

Now, back to Jan trying to find some sidecar driving partners for his desire to do a UCC or UCCC next year.....any takers ???????

I have missed so much on my three Northern trips so I plan on ticking off some of those boxes. I only made it to the Arctic Circle on the Dalton, Missed the Denali Highway, ( was on My ST ) Missed the South and North Canol Roads, need to explore Kluane Nation Park a bit more, plus, Tok, Dawson and Tuktoyaktuk. On my NWT loop I never made it to Yellowknife as I was short on time, so the plan is to loop up there on the way home. We'll see where I head once back into Alberta. Been to Florida three times but I've never been to Flin Flon so hey, what the heck. Do they have an Iron butt award for convoluted travel and random choices ?? lol8

Would the participants be required to carry their canoe from Florida to Alaska, then back again ?

And that, is when they added "Flying" to his moniker.
