Who wants to Group Camp with other sidecarists at the MOA Rally June 13-16
On a very serious note.....will one of your BMW riders please explain, and confirm the exact dates for the BMW MOA Rally in Oregon, and the John Day Rally in Oregon, as my search for information just 1 minute ago showed dates that were NOT in alliance with June 17 - 21.
The official BMW-MOA website shows the MOA rally is in Bend, then it says it is in Redmond, and it always says it is June 13 - 15.
Then the John Day Rally info says it is June 20 - 23.
Frankly, this is confusing, and I would really like to get true and accurate info.

The MOA rally officially starts on Thursday the 13th and actually ends on Saturday Night. Sunday is the day you pack up and leave and we clean up.. Yeah I volunteered for the Sunday clean up crew. So the Web site is sort of correct. I guess the Oregon, John day people are a tad more accurate and include Sunday into the rally schedule. LOL
Does that make it as clear as mud. ??
Brian, and yet.....the title to this thread is written as the.....MOA Rally June 17 - 21.
Yep, clear as mud.

There - I fixed it! Y'all talk about more important things now! Like riding and camping!
I will be there!

My back seems to have signed a temporary peace treaty with me and, at the risk of breaking the truce, I'm gonna make the run down to Redmond for the MOA Rally (300 miles). I'll be camping with our gang at the USCA Group Camp. Arriving Thursday. I'm not bringing Sir Kirby. Dogs are allowed, but I think this sort of rally would not be much fun for him. I WILL be bringing my superlounger camp chair to give my back as much relief as possible. This will be my first MOA National Rally so I expect to be punked and razzed mercilessly.
Be on the lookout for the big yellow tent -->
@ned It will be nice to meet up. We can all sit and visit and compare all our various aches and pains.. Was sadly funny the other day when we had a visit with one of my old ST1300 Crew.. Talk drifted to A Fib as both he and my wife have it and a bunch of the rest of the crew have it as well. So funny how 10 to 20 years ago it would have been talk of what new Farckle we had added to our bikes but now it is what trigger to avoid so your A Fib doesn't get started.. The Joys of O'L'D' 🙂
I will be there as well! And I will camp with the Sidecarist Group Camping, but just on the edge so no one will mistake me for an actual sidecar owner (!). And as a fairly experienced MOA Rally attendee for the last 15 years I will offer my adult supervision for Drone so he doesn't wander and get lost.

I plan on attending the MOA rally in Redmond. Riding up with Darrin from northern Calif. Plan on taking the coastal route then crossing the Cascades. I will be riding the red GSA1200, Roamer The Red Fox, while Darrin will saddle up on his 1250 GSA rig. I will be camping with a somewhat rowdy group from all around the U.S. I believe we will have 6 sidecars in the group and 20 plus two wheelers.
I suggest we set up a photo op with SIDECARS only. I know it may be difficult with different schedules, rides, volunteering, etc. however if we can just pick a time and place and go for it. Likely simplest right on the Expo Complex grounds. Time? Suggestions? Is anyone interested? Is Dave full of crap here? What are your thoughts about a group photo? Heck, I am willing to wrangle up the dang sidecar group. In the A.M. may work best.
Looking forward to Ridin' To Redmond on Roamer and meeting, Ned, Brian, Kevin, Jerry and anyone else I missed.
Dave
Dave, if you and Darrin and the other sidecarists in your group are going to camp elsewhere (not in the USCA section), I suggest we coordinate ourselves via text on site. I'll email you my mobile number at your Yahoo address.Posted by: @dave-brakebillI plan on attending the MOA rally in Redmond. Riding up with Darrin from northern Calif. I'd definitely be up for a half day GS ride somewhere on Friday or Saturday.
Leaving for the rally today, Short stint but should end up some where south of the Border in Washington. Looking forward to a little more exploring, meeting fellow sidecarists, and general revelry. I am up for a group picture and a GS ride.
I mentioned earlier in this thread that my back had signed a "temporary" peace treaty with me. I went for a shakedown ride on Tuesday (the day before my planned departure) and things didn't go so well. Apparently, the peace treaty is history. Had to cancel the trip.
Hope you guys are having a good old time.
DRONE @ned, well....I hope your back starts to feel better, but at least you are up in relatively cool Washington, rather than driving a sidecar rig through 95 friggin degrees outside in the states of Misery, and Cans Ass.
That would be Missouri and Kansas for you local folks.
