Ride for Kids
Karen and i had a great day at the ride today. Sidecar was just ahead of me, with two kids in his hack. i saw a lot of beautiful bikes trikes and hacks, incl. a couple Urals and a 1964 BMW 600 (sweet!) but more important saw smiles on the faces of those wonderful brave children and their parents. raised $335,042.80 for the pediatric brain tumor foundation. you know, i have a hard time saying/writing that "pediatric brain tumor foundation; it breaks my heart that there should be need of such a thing. i trust that the riders/drivers who participated have given these families some happy memories in the ride, and some hope in the monies raised to make research possible. look forward to doing this again.

sorry Lee, that was all i got; i didn't see any on the website which i find odd; surely they have something. maybe they have a facebook?
i hope to see you saturday in Rusk.
It was definitely a good day! Sorry we didn't connect better while we were there. I ended up spending a good part of the registration time on the phone to get through to Progressive to get proof of insurance as I had forgotten to change out my card. If anyone should remember to check that before going to one of these events, you would think I would, but I did get to laugh at myself. I agree that it's a shame that there is such a great need, but I feel privileged to be able to help in even a small way and the two little girls who rode in my sidecar still have me smiling.
let me see if i can add this pic, we had a good time you can't help but cry when you see these kids,
