1/2" thick and 4 1/2" long are the butterfly larvae that used to feed on our Papaya plants.
Take care for your tree!
It poured until early morning, now at dawn you are able to see cloudless all 4 volcanoes and cordilleras in sight.
Why must that happen when you have to work?
One delivery with Sophie and then synchronize the carbs then pick up somebody with her, before the office gets my attention until late...
Some fun must be found in everything!
...
What a pitty, it was only a flock of pigeons passing by, not parrots as I thought.

Well the riding season here in Iowa will be ending in a month or so for us "Fair Weather Riders" and unfortunately due to "WORK" and the stator finally failing on the 86 gl1200 SEI we barely put 1000 miles on this year.

Before the season I put new tires all around. Went with Kenda Kruz on the bike. Great value for the money tires, although I'm am still kicking around the idea of going to the Darkside as the sidecar is a permanent fixture. The sidecar, a California Friendship III took a Primewell 13" 155x80. I should have done the brakes as now I have a left side front needing new shoes.

My mechanic just finished the Poorboy Alternator Conversion. I purchased the full kit from Don Pigott and my mechanic said it was very well machined and easy to install with the provided instructions. I agree with everyone that has said "It was the best decision and No regrets. My SEI had never seen 13.8 volts or above in the 2yrs I have owned it. Even the horn and the radio work better. Hey it's a "NO Brainer for people like me that have two left hands when it comes to spinning a wrench. The cost of the full kit is fair because it has everything already machined to the exact specs and the alternator has all the grinding and prefab already done for you, all with a single wire connection. For me I didn't even mind the labor cost my mechanic charged because he had all the tools and nice garage.

If you're a GoldWing owner and thinking of pulling the trigger don't wait, you won't regret it.

If the weather holds with no major snow storms I am planning a last ride of the season for Thanksgiving in Decatur, AL to visit with our granddaughter. Donna won't ride with me as she says it's too cold, but I've only been frost bitten once out of the 3 years I've ridden there and back.

This is probably our last "big" trip for the season. On Thursday we left northern Iowa to go to Jane's family reunion at Lawton, OK, and arrived in Lawton Friday afternoon. Reunion was at the Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge on Saturday. We left Jane's sister's place near Fletcher, OK about 1:00 pm today.and are at Emporia, KS tonight. Missed the rain so far, though ran into sprinkles north of OKC this afternoon, and left home in fog Thursday.

Not today, but yesterday, had the pleasure of riding across Portland. Not too many cities have it all within their metro area. Especially enjoyable are all the twistie roads we have. Had a great time hanging off on all the curves. It was a great day!

Yesterday was a great day for riding with a few intermittent light showers occurring. Our GWRRA Iowa District Rally was yesterday at Storm Lake, IA. We arrived about 11 A.M. just in time to join a group from our chapter going on a ride. Only the ride leader knew where we were going and he missed a turn. We had a late lunch in Okoboji, IA and then rode back to Storm Lake for the dinner, awards, drawings, etc. Much of the return trip was along the Little Sioux River. The fall colors haven't peaked yet, but it is getting close to maximum leaf color. Some farmers were combining soybeans and corn. Mine are not yet dry enough for harvest. we put about 250 miles on the sidecar rig yesterday.

Do you combine corn and soybeans with your sidecar rig? You can buy farm implements to attach to your Rokon?

Petey and I went to the UMCI Freeze Out campout last Friday at Warden Lake. Came home today fighting a head wind all the way. A fine week end but could have done without the headwind since I was already loaded for bear and feeling the need for more power...

Time for a 103CI conversion Tom?
It sure helped my StreetGlide rig.

I sure wish I'd done that in hindsight Lonnie!! I went the factory rebuild route thinking it would be my most economical route. Wrong!! By the time I quit trying to work with the local dealership I had $7000 into it. $2600 of that was for the factory rebuild. The dealership couldn't make it run right and told me that was all I could expect out of an Evo. I pointed out it has always been an Evo and now at 100,000 miles, and after putting the sidecar on at 85,000, I thought I knew what to expect from an Evo and this wasn't it. I took it to a friend who runs Vintage V-twin and he found the fuel pump wasn't pumping at full pressure. Replaced the fuel pump and could have said problem solved at that point. But no... I had to decided to put another $2,000 into a Thunder Max EFI system since mine was an early EFI bike. Of course this all took place over many months and much frustration. I could be running a bigger power plant and probably saved money in the process. Live and learn....
