Thank you all so much for the support and encouragement.  I’ve had a peculiar form of sitting shiva.  My friend and godson came up last weekend and we did manly things that involved fire, firearms and firewater.  This weekend is our CMA fall campout with good friends.  Next weekend will be the funeral itself.  Life is always good even when it’s hard.

Yesterday was Karen’s funeral.  I know some of my friends and associates watched online.  I was really good the rest of the day, though after everyone had gone home, I somehow ended up watching Vince Gill and Patty Lovelesss sing Go Rest High at George Jones’ funeral at the Opry.  Karen’s brother had adapted the song for her during the service.  I ended up a blubbering mess.

Today i went up to the cemetery to place flowers on my grandparents grave and clean up some things that needed to go. I spent a lot of time there as a kid with my grandfather when he was the caretaker.  I have some ideas but mostly thought about the things that have been and to now move forward into the present.  Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Thane, I thought the service was lovely, and to use your own word...harmonizing. Lots of harmony during the entire service.

Karen certainly did a lot of knitting in her life, and it showed, by so many friends and family wearing the items that Karen had knitted for them to her service.
