Ultimate SideCar combos

OK not that the bugs infection from the bite, and with now just a few miles short of 5000, since I installed our hack. I have been doing a lot of thinking while enjoying all those miles. I see the need for three rigs, one for taking the grandchildren out in, which the Harley I have now more than fits that bill. And still need to add even there with raking the forks, rear suspension, and painting the hack. Now here is where the fun starts. If you could built an on/off the road rig and one High Performance Sidecar/with center hub steering, what would you build, and why. I am looking at an dual/purpose rig that will take me anywhere in the world, one that you can take the road less traveled and make it home. As for the HPS, is there anywhere in the USA that makes the center hub steering, have found a lot over the big pond, but here no. I know I have a lot of question, but an old native elder told me, “no such thing as a stupid question, but some answers are pretty strange, lol”. Anyway just a few thoughts for a Friday evening pleasure…………..lol

Have drooled all over the keyboard on that one. I found a site that is in German that even has a Harley with CHS. http://www.ruko-fahrzeugtechnik.de/umbauten/sportivo/03351a9b750e4a63f/index.html Now is there anyone here in the good old USA making this kind of front end for a Harley? I can’t read German, and the translator only goes so far. I have drooled all over the oversea page also, but my eyes are wider than my wallet is deep, but it fun to day dream………..lol

Turtleman, you can view several high performance sidecars for sale at this site: http://www.hpsidecars.com/ForSale/ForSale.htm

And I hear tell the Perry's Sidecars over in Ft. Worth has a R1100GS w/EML dual sport type rig for sale: http://www.perrysmotorcycles.com/

Your "old native elder"s comment about stupid questions had to be stated before Ebay. I used the hear, "The stupid question is the one not asked." Again another statement made before ebay, and one I believed in until I sold a few items on ebay. I swear to God, if I listed something as "blue" I would get a question like, "What color is it?" or other questions along those lines.

I am building one right now on a Triumph Tiger 955i with single sided swing arm, hub center steering, jack shaft driven rear wheel with a cv joint to transmit power to the hub, full tube frame sidecar with integrated sub-frame (no 'struts' as normally would be), 17" automotive wheels all around with 205/50 R17 BFG KDW G-Force T/A's. I can post up some pics if you wish. Anything is possible. We build all sorts of custom rigs all the time, and by custom I don't just mean bolting a rig together. If you wish to see pics, let me know.

Brock, we'd love follow along with pics. You may find it easier (I have) to post pics into the forums albums with captions and just let us know you've added more. We'll be looking now. 🙂

P.S. Let us know when Side Effects develops modified steering for the Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. I'd like to ease up the control of Jena's rig so it's not as tiring over longer drives. Thanks, Lee

check out the albums, there is a few things in there that I've done over the last little while. enjoy.
We are located in Kamloops, B.C. Canada and do work for people all over the world.
We are considering doing our Leading Legs for the Burgman but need one in house to build the first off of. There is a lot of stuff under the fairing on the Burgman and the easiest way to reduce the trail without taking the bike apart is the Leading Legs. We used to offer them for the Royal Star Venture's do to the amount of shop time it took to pull the fairing off and everything that attached to it but we do the Steerite's for them as they are more cost effective even if you have to pay someone else to put them on. There is a lot of fabrication and jig work on our Leading Legs and the build time added to the cost. So there you go, now you know. 🙂 Enjoy the few pics in Photobucket.

Thanks for the pics Brock. Great work; please keep us posted. Too bad we're 2,500 miles away, cause we'd sure like to bring Jena's Burgman rig up for 1st set of Leading Legs.
