As we all know,  the World of Sidecars is a very small subsection of the Motorcycle world,  which in and of itself is a small subsection of the transportation world.

We hold  a National Sidecar Rally,  and we are lucky if we get 100 sidecars to show up,  realistically more like 50 to 60 will be there.

Therefore,  I thought it would be kewl if we had a thread of..........Sidecar  SIGHTINGS......where you post when and where you spotted or sighted a sidecar rig.

Example: Yesterday on our relatively long drive from  Dijon, France to Bordeaux, France,  I  was tickled to see a sidecar rig coming up the road, coming towards us.

Then, maybe 4 minutes later,  here comes another sidecar rig towards us......then about 4 minutes later, another one.....then exactly 4 minutes later (I started to time them) another sidecar rig is coming up the road, towards us.

It made me wonder I Dont Know are these 4 separate sidecar rigs coming from a collective gathering.....are they all attracted to my car, like a magnet,  ergo pulling sidecar rigs out of French garages, to come our way....was this some utopian universe where sidecar rigs appear every 4 minutes  ?

Sidecars are not unusual in  France,  as some of the very best sidecar manufacturers are in  France,  but.....4 in a row, spaced 4 minutes apart...hmmmm.

We go to Northern Spain later this week,  so I will keep an eye open for what Spain uses as a separation duration of their sidecar rigs.

September 14 we were on our way to a memorial ride end gathering as many of our friends were going to be there.  As we came to an intersection an HD rig was across from us.  We arrived too late to greet them.

And this thread is a great idea!

I was heading out to do a little trail riding one morning and saw a beautiful rig sitting in a parking lot, I turned around at the next light and went back to see if I could find the owner. As I pulled up he came walking out of the bank. We struck up a conversation and as it turns out he was Gary Green's brother. Gary had custom built the rig for him.

Here's a restoration we did at our shop a few years ago now. One of our salesmen had it done as a surprise for his dad's 70th birthday. It's a 1968 Harley FL and a 1968 Harley sidecar. The father bought the motorcycle after he got home from Vietnam and has had it ever since. He had a stroke some years back and has a weak left hand now, so it was converted to a hand shift. I've got some before and afters. I thought I had a picture with the fairing on it as well, but I guess not.
