SIDECAR SHIPPING HELP
My Dad and I were going to California to pick up the TLE sidecar but due to health issues he's not going to be able to make the trip so I'm looking at shipping it to Texas, does anyone know of a good company to ship it with ?
If you go to bottom of page 4 (maybe top of 5 by the time you read this) of Gen. Discussion, there was a discussion about shipping...'question regarding shipping'. Many good suggestions.
regards
Denis
I found the lowest price with Uship. CA to ME. Came in good shape to my door and the carrier helped me offload it and get it to my garage.

Only problem with Uship is you don't know if you'll get the same shipper your buddy had good luck with.
I've hauled stuff through Uship on two separate occasions. The most recent time was about three years ago. I was hauling my daughter's motorcycle across the state on a 14 foot trailer, so I posted my route. I had a lady pay me to add a bed and two dressers to the load and drop them in Madison. The second time, a friend admired my trailer, bought from a local dealer. He ordered a similar trailer and I towed it to Milwaukee for him. That time I hauled two snowmobiles from Hudson to Deforest, and an ATV to Waukesha.
In neither case did I furnish insurance. I had the people sign a contract saying that I wasn't liable for damage.
I ended up using Uship and everything turned out great. Can't beat the price and the service was excellent.
Any experience with Haulbikes.com?
Thanks.
HI Beth,
Haulsbikes did (3) sidecar rig pickup & delivery for me? Attention to detail was top notch.

Getting another rig Beth? or are you moving.
We've used Daily Direct several times for cross country hauls. Great service + $20.K insurance. They haul the showbikes.

Hi Lonnie & thanks for alternate company... Yes, I am getting a new rig (the '07 Sportster Nightster + '09 Velorex 563T is for sale). I love, love, love my current setup, but... read on!
This setup is a BIG change from my previous affinity for the retro look, but my father offered me his '06 BMW R1200RT and I could not refuse! I had an R1150R in the past, and am so excited to be back on a Beemer again. Gorgeous bike.
The problem- I am so used to the sidecar now and love it in so many ways, was in a quandry. I wasn't in love with some of the sportier looking hacks; I was posting some inquiries on ADVRider, perusing all photos of sport tourers on here, hpsidecars.com, Google, etc. Several folks on ADV rider have RTs and similar sport tourers with sidecars and that helped a lot; Claude pointed me to Hannigan and with his help, another fellow with a big red RT, and Photoshop, well, they really grew on me, plus my Dad's bike is in Kentucky. I opted for a Conte Classic with a few doo-dads.
Wanted to investigate an economical and safe mode of transport for the rig... stay tuned!
Regards,
Hi all, wanted to follow-up to my post. I am now the proud owner of the RT1200 + Hannigan Conte Classic (with the SteerLite option which ROCKS!!!) 🙂 It arrived safe & sound, several days before anticipated, yes BEFORE. I was assured delivery 7-10 days after pick-up and it was here in 5 🙂
The transporting company was Incognito, at the suggestion of someone at Hannigan. Here is their link: http://www.incognitoexpress.com/
Sweet looking rig, Beth.
Lonnie
Thanks, Lonnie 🙂 It rides so nicely, too! Thanks for all your help in getting my first rig eventually put together 🙂

Very nice rig indeed. We're eagerly anticipating a couple of "outside" photos.
