There were rentals available on the wet side of the Big island. I'll check with my son in Hilo and see if they are still around. Got lotsa family on Big and on the country side of Oahu but I haven't been back there since 1987.

Weather is mixed light rain and snow here today. Temp in the lower 40's.
Lots of cold sunny winter days here. It'll run down to single digits in the winter and up to triple digits in the summer. Mixed with about 10" of precipitation a year.

Went over the Big Blue pulling a 35 foot Avalon December 98, did not think I was going to make it due to the sweet young thing ahead of me in one of them SUV's.

You hear that one about the IdaHo the NavaHo the ArapaHo?
