Fuel stops in the states normally do not include fresh warm Stroopwafels, However, you've driven through some mighty fine pie territory.  Therefore my WAG is the stops have a factor of pi added.  3*pi rounded down to 9.42 mph added to the 59.3mph.  Or a total of 68.72mph.

So far @2FLTC is the closest.... only off by .6 mph.

Today's Sidecar drive was.... eventful..... let's use that word.

I anticipated rain, so I dressed appropriately...to the nines, and the rain came. At the halfway point it came down hard. I stopped for fuel at the north end of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and parked under the canopy for the fuel pumps. After filling up, left the Sidecar rig under the canopy, and ran inside the convenience store. The three employees behind the counter were dumbfounded that someone on a motorcycle would be out in this weather, and in unison they all said...."you know there's LIGHTNING out there"

I just smiled, and shrugged my shoulders, whilst grabbing a cold drink from the coolers.

As I walked up to the counter, one of them asked me..."aren't you afraid of getting hit by the Lightning ?"

I suggested they do a quick search on their phones for... motorcycle rider struck by lightning... Washington State...2013.

And now, they know the rest of the story.

Delivered the Sidecar rig to the new owner this afternoon. Will spend the next 3 days visiting with him, installing a new Utopia backrest onto the RDL seat, helping him erect a secondary shelter to store his original Sidecar rig...the 1995 Wing w/Champion Escort ll.... that's still for sale at $ 8,750.00

Then I fly home next Monday.

Glad you have arrived safely.  Hopefully Cyrus doesn’t get lonely when you head back home.  Cool idea putting up a cover/shelter for the 95 rig.

Thane, I have to tell you....King Cy l is a really great dog....I mean....REALLY GREAT DOG.

Steve is very fortunate to have found the perfect companion/replacement for Mr. Sam.

Miles your stops must have been longer than I figure which screw up my formula. I was hoping to be closer.

@miles-ladue As another aging man 78yo with an enlarging prostate I know my last few interstates trips average 68.666 mph. No formula just imprecise time keeping.

Another epic journey in the books.  Good to see you weren't blasted by lightning, just ball sized rain drops.

Will look forward to Steve and Cyrus ride reports.  🤩

No, actually my stops were a shorter duration than you accounted for. You had .6 mph too high .

My actual riding speed was 71.8 mph

In the days of yore....IBA riders would try to keep their stops down to 10 minutes or less.

Hardcore riders would do it in 6 minutes or less.

Today...we erect the secondary shelter for his original Sidecar rig, then need to spit-shine his newest Sidecar rig that I just delivered to him

Yesterday we assembled the new temporary shelter to house his original Sidecar rig..... today I installed the Utopia backrest onto the RDL seat on the Euro -Wing sidecar rig.

All we have left to do is wash this Sidecar rig, and make it look purdy.... but the temperatures outside are not conducive to washing a vehicle right now.

The backrest looks custom made for the RDL seat.  Very nice.  I like how wide, and sculpted it is.  Looks like great support. 😎

If it’s the same as on mine, yes, very nice, sturdy and comfortable.

Thane, the Utopia backrest on Steve's new to him Sidecar rig is basically the same as what is on your '06 Wing w/Champion Daytona 2+2 Sidecar rig, with the exception being that Utopia now offers a "quick out" option, for riders that have a need to "remove" the backrest from the seat. As you well know, Steve has physicality issues that make it necessary for him to remove the new Utopia backrest, so he can mount the bike, then reach behind him to reinstall the Utopia backrest into the RDL seat.

Whilst I have installed many Utopia backrests into motorcycle seats, this was the first time installing the "quick out" bar.....and I must say that Utopia did it right 👍

I believe this Utopia backrest on this RDL seat will be great for Steve.
