Old style springs and straps are sometimes for sale on eBay. I think you could probably design something with seat belt material and hardware that would work. I thought about doing this with my sidecar but I couldn't figure out a way I liked that would keep the strap from rubbing on the brake line so I just lived with the bounce. I now have a sidecar with the multi-leaf springs and it doesn't bounce nearly as much as the single leaf setup.

Try to put a good bunch of ballast into the tub.
At least that was what helped a lot with my Willies Stationwagon.
Example: Put 7 park rangers + gear into it and you could speed up even on the dried out lake ground ...without braking your neck.
(1997, bottom of Lake Caño Negro, Costa Rica. It was for to rescue their pickup off a log bridge. All because: A recently married companion did have only eyes and mind for his wife...)

I forgot that another person on this forum gave me some pictures of work he did to reduce bounce on his HD sidecar. Attached are pictures of a friction damper and a shock absorber setup.

There is a thread "Harley sidecar tub bouncing" or something like that which has a few more details. If you search for "bounce" or "bouncing" you should find a couple of discussions about this topic. The person who designed and built those dampers is gnm109. I'm not sure if he is still active here. The damper pictures are over 5 years old, not sure exactly when he made them.
