Bruce, check your axle rating on that trailer. Then see about upgrading the suspension on the trailer, whether it's leaf springs, or torsion bar.

Yes sir....
Er the current limit or at least the obvious one is the 13 inch tyres.
1400kg is about their Max at I think 60 psi, 8 ply.
14 inch wheels and tires would give maybe another couple of hundred.
Then it has to go thru the legal upgrade proce$$ to change the compliance plate.
Not sure I could be bothered and it's not needed just wanted.
Unless I perchance meet someone who does it as part of their business etc.
Discipline.

If you have no "need" to replace those trailer tyres, then leave them alone.
However, if there is a "need"...then buy only TRAILER tyres, and not automotive tyres, as the trailer tyres can usually handle a heavier load.
And...they don't have to turn, steer, or comfort the passengers as much as automotive tyres.

Dennis's ride this weekend with the Indian Harley club 2 day run at Bunbury .
Probably have a few more pics before it's done.

Got quite a few, well actually bunch of trailer comments.
Along with comments on both vehicles.
The car neatly fits length wise.
And if it's in the middle the doors can be opened and there's room for tying it down.
It is a success so far.
The Dodge used 20 litres to the hundred kilometres.
Only a couple more than I got running without the trailer.
So besides its size it is fairly slippery at 80 to 95 kph.
Seemed very stable which is a good thing.
Brakes on the Dodge only gave a couple of moments.
Have yet to weigh the total.
Might do it with my gantry that found its way back again.

It was a 2 day event.
I didn't go on the actual runs so that was different.
Went as a shake down run to test the viability of the rig.
Viable but pricey over distances.
270 klm cost a $101 AU for fuel.
Vaguely entertaining the concept of an eastern states trip.
Be as cheap to hire a $50 a day Ute for a month or two.
The difference in fuel cost would pay for hire and save wear on the Dodge.
Probably to cheap to do it anyway.
With Cambodia it's a big ask.

Wow! What an awesome get together! 🤩
Would be a pretty cool write up for the Sidecarist magazine. Not sure if there has ever been coverage of an Australian event.
Any ideas come to mind for a new project?

BTW: The Dodge with trailer looks pretty epic! 😎
Who cares about fuel consumption when you're traveling in that kind of style and class. 🍻

WOW...Bruce. Excellent pictures of everything, the bikes, the sidecar rigs, and the Dodge w/new trailer.
11.74 mpg overall, towing the full trailer behind the Dodge. A person could live with that, especially for local drives.
I loved seeing all the OLDE British bikes, and their counterpart, the olde Brit sidecars.

It wasn't a sidecar event as such.
Just couldn't be bothered trying to get pictures of every bike.
Spent more time enjoying the bikes and talking to owners.
I think there was around 240 entrants total.
And a huge range of bikes from a veteran new Hudson etc through to bikes from 25 yrs ago.
Including 6 cylinder inline Honda's and Kawasaki's etc.
A really good turn out and a well run event.
Speaking of Hudsons the nephew ran a fastest of 236mph (gps only) at Lake Gairdner in South Australia last week.
They got 5 runs in before the winds picked up.
Probably an after affect of cyclone Alfred.
All runs in the high 220's or above.

That is faster than a 2025 Corvette ZR1. Very impressive!
Congratulations to the team on what sounds like a very good speed week. 🍻

@scott-h a new project?
Dennis is going to drop off his 1903 Brown engine and a donor frame this week.
Still want to put a door on the big trailer so will be looking at that.
The sidecar needs more work. I'd say finishing but we all know about that.
