Got My New Rig

Well I picked up my new rig on Monday, trailer still wasn't big enough for the set up (it is the same size as a compact car for sure) so it had to be removed from the bike angled on the trailer barely fitting. Got her home, dear son in law hooked her back up. Yesterday Gail and husband Larry came over, they got it adjusted so the steering is a little easier, it was very stiff. Gail took me for a ride, boy does that gal hit it.. Hold on for dear life...LOL just kidding, kinda, I'm not much out of second gear yet, rig is ver comfortable. I have to make one big change, taking off my engine guards and change the angle of the front top arm, it is in the way just enough to get my foot caught on the back brake, a safety issue for me for sure. But it is just a blast, the grand kids love it. Huge rig, makes my bike look like a little toy...LOL More to come as I practice practice practice, those right turns are messing with my head, as expected I suppose. I put an album of photo's out there under OlBroad.

I agree for different reason though, I like hanging my feet up there on long rides,pricey- well they used my bike as their prototype, so they cost me nothing...LOL My Sampson pipes as well same thing.. Lucky me. LOL I was thinking maybe a shorter brake pedal, is there such a thing though?

If you're thinking narrower pedal, there used to be a "Lollypop" (round) rubber brake pedal we used back when. Had to drill a hole through the metal pedal and bolt it through. looked cool and worked well. Kinda like a Model A brake pedal.

A smaller pedal placed further inboard would sure give you more foot room.

I'm assuming you aren't a quad E of course. lol

Lonnie

(Disclaimer) Not that there's anything wrong with quad E's !!!

That sure would be great if I can get past second gear. I road it over to look at a big parking lot to practice a few blocks away yesterday and it had gentle little curves driving up to the parking lot (Ramona Bowl)out in Hemet. Oh dear, I thought, this isn't a straight line, now what do I do...lol Well this rig has really heavy steering. It took real effort to swish up the road. I'm pretty sure that saying I won't have enough confidencc to get out of second gear by December is an accurate statement.... LOL I took my son-in-law for a ride just down the street and back, he weighs upwards of 285 290, I really had to push harder on the handle bars to keep it straight. No more big boy in the sidecar LOL. It must have done me in good yesterday, I slept till 10:30 AM this morning. Usually up at 7am. LOL I have got to get that steering lighter some how. At this point it is real work to ride it. I can't imagine taking a long ride the way it steers now, unless maybe spending 6 months at Golds Gym becoming a body builder...LOL
