I have been watching it on Gumtree.
Looks a great rig.
I have been watching it for a long time.
It was not registered for at least some of that time and the price dropped down to 5k
Now asking 7k registered.
I think this is an example of licensing laws that work against the owners of larger capacity machines.
Australian rules mean you have to start with sub 660cc restricted power machines.
Sound great in theory.
But the upgrade to a full license is expensive in that they want you to get proffesional le$$on$.
And the people making money from this make out that riding bigger capacity machines is next level skill wise...... Bull.
Cost my friend Dennis somewhere between $1500 and $2000.
The only difference is the level of self control required.
Not testable.
And watching bike riders in general, not achieved.
Net result?
Less buyers for big capacity machines and depressed prices.
Keep the learner approved motor cycle scheme for sure but make the upgrade automatic after a set period.

@brstr It took 3 years and $13,000 to get to passed and registered stage. Many hoops to go through with the Transport Department.
I find it to be discrimination that the purchaser has to prove to them that it will be used for a wheelchair, considering it has passed all requirements and is registered for that purpose. The reason I say this is that I have bought and sold Toyota Hiace Commuter busses that have Modification Approvals to reduce from 11 seater to 7 with a hoist and wheelchair tie downs, without having that restriction.
It is discrimination against sidecars and disability.
The Department said to just separate the bike and return it to factory standard and transfer it normally. However, that is not what I want as it now has Leading Link and the sidecar brake is plumbed to the bike. Added to that is the safety straps etc for the wheelchair occupant.
It is ridiculous, however, I truly hope to find a new owner that will use it for that purpose.
It is a very limited market due to the requirement for a Large Bike Licence and the need for a wheelchair passenger.
But having spent 18 years visiting the Children's Hospital with my daughter, with so many children in wheelchairs, I know there would be dad's out there with the license that would like to ride with their daughter, rather than leave at home with a carer.
Thank you for allowing me to add the sidecar combination to this site, all the exposure I can get may be necessary to find the right person.
By the way, I originally applied to make it a Leaner Sidecar Combination, but they rejected it and made me connect it as a Rigid Hack.
It is perfect to have the Pillion Seat so the carer can go with the sidecar passenger and the rider.
I love riding it, but now that my daughter no longer requires it, I want it to go to a good home. 🙂

The rig brings to mind a young guy here in Shoalwater.
Paraplegic.
He gets wheeled down to the beach and put in a kayak.
That he can paddle at least close to shore.
Also swims a bit.
It was an accident that did it. (Young, male and not as lucky as the rest of us).
I wonder if he would like?
