Well, I don't know about HD, but Rossmeyer down here has a rig for sale. But the real Florida hack riders are riding BMW's with various hacks. My home has two, 2 R1200C's, one with a Ural and one with a Champion Escort. Friend has a 1982 R80 with Velorex. Than there are the out of Miami friends with an R1200CL with Hannigan and another with a Kxxxx with an xx, just can't remember. Good buddy rides a Honda with a XX and one leg. Hack provides a nice place for this crutch. And other things. As for HD making 3000 units a year, when was the last time you saw a police officer riding a hack? You have to be at least my age to even remember this. (going on 70 in april.) Anyway, MN is a great state, in the summer, and if they have the rigs, more power to them. We just got our riding season down here (Miami), so we are hell bent for leather and whatever else we can grab.

Actually, Pittsburgh Police were dragging tubs around as late as 5 years ago. Word on the street is the Trikes (training wheel type) haven't worked out and Pittsburgh will again have Peace Officers with sidecars.

Police sidecars and good old "flashlight therapy".....some things should never change!

Last time I was in Columbus Ohio the police had sidecars.

Yeah, but according to Van der V they weren't "Real Florida Hackers" unless they were attached to Beemers. LOL

Chauvenism; You gotta love it!

A "real Florida hacker" wouldn't last more than a few miles riding in Pittsburgh in January.

LOL...I wouldn't really want to ride more than few miles in Pittsburgh in Janurary. And not totally thrilled about riding IN Pittsburgh the rest of the year either.
Claude , Long time Harley rider now riding Beemers. Why? Not sure...lol.

I gotta hand it to Pittsburgh Bike Cops.....they ride all winter long...ice, snow, single digits, doesn't matter....I've seen them fly the chair over fire hydrants, and balance the tub mid air at stop signs...so they are not only tough....they are good.

That's fun stuff, Ditch, but in most areas I've been in the local "Fuzz" would drop a negligent or reckless driving citation on any "Civilian" observed doing such antics.
I've had to talk my way out of a ticket for just lifting the chair slightly in a right turn.

Same if you walked into 7-11 and "helped yourself" to coffee and donuts....like we used to say in the Corps...."Rank has it's Privileges"

Many years ago when we lived in Detroit,Michigan my father took my older brother down to see family on dad's side to McKeysport on the south side of Pittsburgh, down there he told my brother before having him get behind the wheel of the car If you can drive here you can drive anywhere.

I gotta believe that applies to bikes and sidecars to!

Harley dealers for the most part sell sidecars on an order basis. The local dealer where I am will have one on the floor ready to go from time to time. Harley has a nice facility at Pontiac, WI but they seldom say much about it.

All I can say is that I was quite pleased when my new TLE sidecar came to the dealer in the crate last January. It is certainly a nice product.

its not new - ultra bike and ultra sidecar - 2004 i think - was looking at it today - but i could not verify the vin - the vin sticker on pre 07 bikes is very very hard to see when the sidecar is on - you need to pull the wires aside up on the steering head.

has 11k on it - very clean - stone stock

Yeah.....saw it on their website.....think they have it posted on the "featured bikes" link.....same color scheme as mine.....wonder what the story is?.....the owners wife owns the combo parked in service with some other "family" rides.....I met Bill Sigel (sales mgr.) at St. Paul H-D, he's a nice guy.....I was pretty impressed with the whole set-up....Did they open the 2nd dealership yet?
