🙂 Hello Folks,
Chrismas is in the air.
Who of You is about to get a new toy?
I was tempted incredibly by Keith Birkhofer's Patrol... and play Glenn Millers "American Patrol" for days...
You know fingers cannot stay still in such a moment of "In the Mood" 😉 .

Anyhow I am waiting for the new heart of my Jolly Roger 2: a Husquarna 450ccm, watercooled, 4 stroker engine for to substitute the Jawa 2 stroker I destroyed 2 month ago on a fishing trip.

Now for to make You all jealous: :O
Summer started 1 month too early. Its the best riding wheather You can imagine.
We had today a small family party on my father's in law farm.

Oh, what fun it is to ...
...dizzle in the shadow in a hammock, listen to the crickets, the small children play and a Bolero or Ranchero song...!!!
😉 😮 🙂

Best wishes to all from 10°N, 84°W
Sven Peter Pan
nervously expecting the BIG ride in spring. 😮

If you had the wisdom to live in Florida, you could be riding even now. I rode about a 150 miles this weekend, put new tires on LSQUID. got a car tire in rear and a battleax on front. Pricey but rides very well. Cured a slight shimmy at low speed and rides smooooth at 65/70 mph. I put some stuff called Ride-On in both tires to check it out. Came highly recommended and I thought to give it a try.

Tomorrow is another day like this one, temps in 70s and sunshine. Come on down, bring your rig!

To be wise or not to be wise.
That is supposed to be the question.
Pahhh..., no, the mind is free and each one of us is supposed to do what he thinks is the thing to do.
I went 24 years ago from Northgermany to Centralamerica.
Here the bones aren't aking, but You loose the sence of time.
And don't ask how much I missed snow, spring and autumn.
This year I lived my first spring since 1988 because of a business journey. Don't ask how close I built to the creek...
Life is for to live every moment as if it might be the last.
That is all rig riding is about. and for sure Gummiente and others enjoy wiping in the snow too as much I did when I went to Norway in December 1986....
...
Yesterday came in the call that the spares for the new Husquarna, 450ccm, 4 stroker engine came in for my Jawa rig "Jolly Roger II +1/2".
January will become an interesting screwing project.
Best wishes to all.
Sven

To me the greatest Christmas Gift is that which I've already received, within the reason for the season. Aside from that all else pales but within that all has a special joy of meaning and substance in this journey to forever and beyond as I daily live the Gift of Life. Having once tasted of death and to then be restored, not by the hand of man, that which has been given is all the sweeter and more precious. Best of life to you all!

Jimmie and many others: Wellcome in the club of survivers.
Having been once at the point of to hand over the spoon and/or been at the point to change shoes for a wheel chair (or bed). makes You think a lot and turns You greatful for every moment.
And with these people daily life and work are completely different stories: They know what is really important....

That was the reason why I gave the last one of the "Courtesy helps everybody"-vests to the only other sidecar pusher who rides frequently in Costa Rica.
Once a day he will give his wheel chair bound daughter a lap arround the neigbourship on the other side of Central Valley.
His Chrismas gift in advance from a mechanics was a new cylinder and head that rose his pulling horse from 150ccm to 250ccm.
They are a nice family that approches a hard destiny with an excellent attitude and get along step by step at a time.
On, On.
Best luck to everybody and think about how lucky we are with just being able to wake up a new day.
Sven

Funny Jeff,
If You would have shaved out the chin. I nearly would have mistaken You for my father (who rests in peace).
I had to look closer several times.
I wish You all the luck for the journey through the last missing states.

Doug enjoy it.
Now let's rest a few days before the adventure year 2013 starts.

And just for to remember us all, how short life can be:
My wife heads for to burry one of her coussins who lost her life on a trip to the beach yesterday.
Ride/drive safe, there is somebody waiting for us home!
Sven

I am very sorry about your wife's cousin.

One of the reasons I put a hack on mine is heath but not sure I will be able to ride much longer. If I am able to raise the money for raked trees that will let me ride at least a little longer. Would hurt a lot to quite as I have been riding none stop for over 40 years.

I had a great Christmas being my my daughter and all 5 of my grandchildren.

Try to get the steering modification, You will not regret.
...Who am I to tell so, if I never tried a reduced trail steering?...
Many years of back ake tell me to get one for my future rig.
And if the Husquarna engine turns into some serious long term solution for the Jawa a steering modification will come too.
Meanwhile I will not only watch the sunset, but ride into as many I will be able to on 2 or 3 wheels.
27.12.12 here we go from tomorrow on...... for not to see s-wire as often...

Enjoy with the grandchildren.
Someone mocked me once, that if he would have known that grandchildren would be so much fun, he would have had them first...
I hope that my children wait at least a decent time for to have the next generation.
Sven 😉

Damn this site is SLOW!!!!!!!!!!

My triple trees cannot be modified I have to get a new set of trees. The cheapest ones I have found are $700 which is more then I live on in a month for the last 2 years. Been paying in to disability since 1970 and been trying to get it for 2 years and it could be another year before I do. But so fair I still have a roof over my head. I am doing better then some.

The trees I am looking at are made here in Georgia but I can get my best price from a shop in Alabama and no tax. Here are the ones I am looking at.

I love my children very much but yes grandchildren are more fun.

Yes it is Jeff!! The site is slow that is. More so than normal. Don't know what's up but it's sure frustrating to click on something that should be nearly instantaneous and sit and watch the little box down in the left lower corner say "waiting for www.sidecar.com" for minutes at a time. Somehow I got logged out as well. Normally stay logged on. But when I tried to log on a little earlier it timed out and I had to start again. Oh well, beats sitting in traffic I guess...

Apparently something is "going-on" with our host server?

And yes, sidecar appropriate triple trees are great. Hawg Halters seems to make good stuff. Hope you can work it out to get 'em.
