Champion Sidecar Avenger No VIN
I’m in the process of buying a used champion avenger model sidecar. When communicating with a shipper, they required a Vin number which the seller could not provide. I contacted Champion and they said it would just be an order number on a decal that’s attached to the frame. The seller said there are no decals on the frame. Any thoughts on how to resolve this situation? If it’s just a decal I’m assuming other members have had to deal with this so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Look under the frame for the car at the front mount point. I think that's where most are located. Also, help your shipper grasp the fact that sidecars are not registerable and don't have VIN numbers. It might help to know where the car is located to see if someone local can assist.
Failing that, have Champion contact the shipping company to explain in small, easy to understand words why there is no VIN. If they still won't budge, can you use a different shipper to do a freight pallet?

Thank you, I will be talking with the shipper this morning. Hopefully we can figure this out today.

Dave, how odd that Haul Bikes is asking for VIN for the sidecar you want to ship.
Because....I am shipping an entire sidecar rig, a 2015 Honda Goldwing w/Hannigan GTL sidecar from Washington State to Florida, and I have already paid for the shipping, but they never asked me for a VIN.
Same complete sidecar rig will then be shipped from Florida to Heidelberg, Germany.

In further discussion with Haul Bikes they were willing to accept two identifying photographs in an email from me that would indicate they were in legal possession of my sidecar for the purposes of transporting it to me. Normally they have a vin number on the contract and on a bike. In this case, they had neither. They decided to accept the photographs in place of vehicle identification numbers.
I got the impression that they didn’t have a lot of experience just shipping a solo sidecar? All good in the end and I thank you all for your quick responses that helped me resolve the issue.
Keyboard motorcycle shippers is what I use to ship Sidecars without the bike. I also use Haul bikes, but you have to catch them at the right time, and you will get a great price It's all about timing with them.
Good to know, I’ve saved the keyboard information
Every time I have had to use haul bikes they ask for a vin and confirm it when they pick the bike up
They picked up the sidecar from the seller two days ago in Milwaukee. I’m not sure when I’ll see it but not in a hurry as I’m rehabbing from knee replacement surgery.
