I just got back from the 39th Brass Monkey Rally in Yuma. Tried to upload some shots of the rigs there to an album but couldn't get them under 200KB. Here are some of the rigs that were there.
Had some rough weather and lots of icy roads on the way down from Boise. Temp ranges from Zero to 78. Great weather this year in AZ and a great turnout group. Met some old customers and some new friends. Also brought back some tree ripened grapefruit and some cheap Arizona hooch. Lowest premium gas was $3.129 in Boise, highest was $3.899 in Nevada.
The fat rear tire on my Street Glide rig worked well in the deep sand (for awhile) till I tried to back uphill with a monkey aboard and sheared the breakoff keys in my Mamba reverse while revving and rocking (which is a No No). "So soon Old, So late Smart". Naturally there were several onlookers who helped me rock the rig till I could shift out of reverse and drive out of the sand. Thanks guys!
Glad it wasn't a Champion reverse or it would have grenaded the tranny instead of just shearing two brass keys. Still a pain in the butt to replace but I'll only need two trapdoor gaskets instead of $2K worth of new gear set plus labor. Grandstanding can get expensive at times.

Heh...heh..heh. Thanks for the pics Lonnie. Looks like a great trip. I'm waiting to hear more from Beemer Bob from down our way in Texas -- he apparently encountered some mechanical problems as well.
