Anyone seen one of those in person? What do you think? I'm getting on in years and perhaps it's time to switch to a lighter ride.

I think you would be better served by either buying an already assembled Suzuki Burgman 650 w/Sidecar, or....buying a used Burgman 650 and adding the sidecar of your choice to the Burgman 650.

I just bought this one for my wife, a 2018 (last year of the Burgman 650's), with a real (not fake or faux) Hannigan Classic sidecar.

Paid the seller $ 10k for it, buzzed it from Los Angeles, CA to Olympia, WA , 1,139 miles in 22.5 hours of road time, and hitting upper speeds of 80+ mph at times, and it was rock steady.

Now that it is home, I am greatly impressed by how the Seller mounted the sidecar to this Burgman 650. I still have a little bit of electrical corrections to do, but overall it is a 9.35149 out of 10, and my wife is very happy with how it handles, steers, and drives.

This is our 2nd one of these, first was a 2015 Burgman 650, with a faux Hanniagn Classic, and it was put together by the "former DMC sidecars" that was previously located in Buckley, Washington, and they did a very poor job of assembly and alignment.

This one is far superior to the last one.

There are a few more of these around the country, probably the best known are those owned by Bill in Virginia, as he has done two of them, and he does them very well.

This 638cc Fuel Injected twin, with a CVT trans, and 5 planetary gears to align, and drive the rear differential, make this a bike that is far superior to that Neo 500.

TONS of available parts and support in the USA, or around the World, for this Suzuki Burgman 650, they can easily be found online for $ 5k to $7k, then find the sidecar of your choice.

Or, get in line behind MJ @mj, as she is the first in line for this one that my wife now enjoys, so when we are ready to sell this one...you could be # 2.

Seriously, these Suzuki Burgman 650's are the Goldwing of scooters, and as reliable as any Honda Goldwing.

Your Burgy W/ Classic sidecar has some impressive credentials. My Mrs is looking for easier egress than my very low and wide EZS RX5 provides. To tell the truth I'm getting tired of work on this 32yo motorcycle rather than driving it. We no longer go on long super slab and are content with weekenders, restaurant rides and such. The NEO sidecar seems to have easy ingress and the more important egress. I can't break the bank on one of those giant fancy outfits with a door.

Sidewise @sidewise, okay....you need better ingress and egress than what a Hannigan Classic sidecar offers for your wife, so, I did make you an alternative suggestion.

There is absolutely no way in the World, on this Planet, or any planet where they serve Stroopwaffles, that a Neo 500 from China is going to be as good as a Suzuki Burgman 650, for longevity, for reliability, for parts availability, or an "ity" you can think of.

That is why I suggested finding THEE sidecar of you choice, and mounting it to a Suzuki Burgman 650.

The guy I bought this rig from used the Hannigan instructions that came with the sidecar he ordered from Hannigan, and it is FAR better than what the former DMC did when they mounted the faux Hannigan Classic sidecar to our former Burgman 650.

NOTE: I strongly suggest a 2013 or newer Burgman 650....so 2013 to 2018, as the 2018 was the last year.

These newer Burgman 650's also have electric windshields, the Executive model also has electric folding mirrors...heated seats, heated grips, and come with a lifetime supply of Stroopwaffles.

None of use know, for certain, if the Neo 500 sidecar rig is TRULY going to be coming to the USA, or if it does, in numbers that make it available to the masses that may want one, and what the parts availability will be for support, the mechanical issues that may, or may not, rear their ugly head, and dealership support, or not.

Doing it this way....by finding THEE sidecar that actually fits your wife, allows her to easily enter and exit the sidecar, is what you are really after.

Then finding a used Burgman 650 (which is easy to do), and getting it mounted to the sidecar, you end up with a rig that is as mechanically reliable, and maintenance free as a newer Goldwing.

Oh, final note:  If you buy a Neo 500 sidecar rig, then....NO STROOPWAFFLES FOR YOU  !
