2018 Goldwing

IDK but it looks like it won't be easy or cheap to reduce trail. I like the overall looks better than earlier models but still.......
We will more then likely be buying one for the company to develop sidecar mounts and steering modifications for as we have two new models of sidecars in the works that will be a great match for the Goldwing. A single seat and a two seat that the fronts flip forward with the top attached. The single seat will be out first, still working on production tooling for it.
Steering modifications will more then likely require an entire new bottom half of the suspension.

That sounds expensive. I may have to keep my '99 Interstate for future hack duty..

We are not releasing any photo's at this time. The two seat will be an up date of the Liberator we use to offer.

Having read several ride reports, i’m Interested to see if it does well without front end mods. Friend of mine said he had a chance to test ride the automatic and found it to be one of the smoothest riding bikes he’s ever ridden. Anxious to see how it handles on the road. Sure looks like a great design.
I have no doubt about it having a smooth ride. Kinda looks bulky yet compact to me.

Looks ripping as a solo bike but I'm with others that think the front looks like a lotta trouble if it needs mods.
OTOH - hey look the old FI 1800s are about to be bargains bargains bargains!
Jay, have you gotten ahold of one yet?. I wonder if that linkage hardware between the handlebars and fork steering might not make modification easier or even unnecessary.

We have not done any thing with this yet. We are in the middle of moving to a new building and as such we are a bit behind from where I wanted to be as far as developing new stuff. Our current project is the BMW N9T Urban GS which we just purchased a bike to work with in order to develop product for your European distributor. Next project with be the wing.

Not trying to jump a posting. Spoke with Ruth Ann at Hannigans. They have a bike on order to be delivered soon and will be fabricating sidecar mounts and a trike outfit for the new wing. I think everyone has the same questions about the front end configuration for the new bike. I Will post any updates if i find out anything new.
Here are some pics of the new Wing with a Hannigan SP2 sidecar. Dave and Company did a great job. Many challenges and the dealt with each one. Steering is similar to the Old Wing without ez steer. Not ready for that yet. It is a real smooth running machine!

I don't know what the steering is like on an older wing (GL1800?) without EZ Steer. Can you enlighten us? Is it heavy like a Mack truck with the power steering broken, or is it just plain old heavy?
It’s smooth on the straight ways, easy in the modest road curves and heavy in the sharp turns. I use push-pull technique and it hasn’t been a problem. In our Walmart parking lot there is a fast double S curve and I was able to run through it easily. The longer and tighter the curve the greater the resistance. I’m 74 and in good shap and can manage it easily. EZ Steer would be a big plus on long twisty rides. Thanks
