When it comes to buying used there is nothing better than a great maintenance/care history. That is what lead me to buy SYZ. Not so much the rig by itself, but knowing the history and maintenance. Also inspires to keep that exceptional level of maintenance up. It becomes something to look forward to, rather than just a chore.
Hope to see it in the Flint Hills this coming September. 👍

Oh, Jan @jan-2, not only is the buyer a USCA member, but he is also a Board member, and someone you know quite well. I am sitting at the Seattle airport, awaiting his arrival.

Sadly (fortunately?) the ride home itself was pretty mundane. My initial jaunt from Tacoma to Portland was hot and somewhat awkward as I worked to find a comfortable riding position. Overnight with my BIL and his family I learned a lot about Zelda.
Ride from Portland to Jerome after the first 560 miles was a brutal day in a roasting oven. Too many stops, too much heat, more traffic through Nampa/Boise than I am used to. Of course, about 800 that night power went out in the region and the generator had weird things on/off. I had TV but no AC, another guest had no TV but did have AC 
. Power came back about a half hour after I went to bed at 9.
Jerome to Rawlins was uneventful. Walked from my motel to get food at Walmart. Crashed at 9 and was done sleeping at 330. On the road at 530 and home by 200. That's with losing an hour from Mountain time to Central.
Best part was that there wasn't a single pucker moment on the trip. Interstates are interstates. Mostly boring, fairly generic, add trees and some mountains for variety, but overall, blah.
That said, I got off I15 and took US 30 for 180 miles to join up with I80 east of Salt Lake. That segment was very pleasant, scenic and relaxed. I don't take many photos of anything so most of my "ride reports" are just words without pics so.....maybe they never happened?
Altogether, I'm not really a fan of interstate travel in anything less than a 3 ton vehicle, but when time is of the essence, needs must. Today we are attending a rally and running their gate security for the bands. Tomorrow I take the Royal Star rig to meet it's new keeper. Glad I don't have work during the summer, I'd never get anything done!

Definitely an "adventure". Glad you made it safe and somewhat sound. 👍 When you hit I-80 east of SLC you were in my old stomping grounds. Lots of epic roads & trails through there. Sounds like the rig did awesome.

Went up to work to collect a reimbursement check and used the opportunity to let Fiona have a first ride. Overall good, though in this picture she was making notes. We might have to install a "grab strap" somewhere to give her something to use for exiting the car.

That parking sign seems really outdated. Probably should be replaced with a "Sidecar Parking Only".

Long story on that parking area. When I started, the Supt. had the road crew come in an lay down some asphalt. 3 inches packed to 2 inches. It lasted all of two years. When it had completely disintegrated and nobody was able to park there, (three years after disintegration) a new Supt. bit the bullet and had a concrete slab poured. Of course, the two reserved parking spots were for himself and the secretary.
Today, pretty much no teachers park there. Most are on the east "inside" lot or on the west lot. Everything else is unpaved and there's no guff about using reserved spots.

Interesting the asphalt broke up so quick.
Did they use a proper road base?
Concrete streets in Cambodia often have to be redone quickly.
More money is made if they use less cement it seems.
