EDIT:   NOW For Sale

I have a buddy that has a 2018 BMW R1200 GS...with a GSA fuel tank on it...and a real LBS leading Link front end...and a Hannigan Dualsport sidecar that he is going to sell.

The facts as we know them:

Bike is a 2018 BMW R1200GS

Right now, a total of 37,000 miles on the entire rig....with 22,000 of that on the sidecar, but it shows as NEW....really !

It has a GSA fuel tank on it.

New bike battery installed 2.5 years ago, and the bike is in the shop getting new brake fluid flush right now.

It has a real LBS Leading Link front end on it (produced by Ad Donkers in the Netherlands)

It has a color matched Hannigan Dualsport sidecar

It has the ECC...Electric Camber Control, with a toggle switch on the right side of the fuel tank, for easy operation.

It comes with both BMW Vario panniers, with liners, and the BMW rear trunk on the rear rack.

I can attest to the fact that all work done on this bike and sidecar have been performed by seriously experienced shops, NO butchers, NO wannabees.

The shops that have worked on this bike and sidecar are well known, with very good reputations.

I happen to know that the seller has more than $ 45,000.00 total investment into this very complete rig, and it shows...it really does.

But you and I, and the Cigar Store Wooden Indian all know that we rarely ever get our full investment back out of the money we put into these rigs.

That is just the fact of life of our sidecar lifestyle.

In my "opinion"....I see this as a good buy at $ 28k....or $ 28,000.00

The seller is staying in the sidecar community, just going with a newer Goldwing, and Hannigan Dream sidecar, close to what I have in my BattleWing Galactica rig.

So, Brian @mgv8  up in Canoe, B.C., you have a "somewhat" similar rig, same LBS Leading Link, same model of bike, but different sidecar, what do YOU think ?

I would love to have feedback from anyone that has a view or opinion.

Additional info:

Cast wheel in front, instead of the spoked wheel.....Automotive style wheel on the rear of the bike.

It "appears" that we may have a potential buyer for this 2018 BMW R1200GS, with GSA fuel tank, and LBS Leading Link, and Hannigan Dualsport sidecar....rig.

Whew, that is a long description, so "I" sure hope this sells, as my 171 year old fingers are getting worn out.

This potential buyer....a BMW guy at heart, was previously interested in buying my 2018 Honda Africa Twin w/DCT trans, and Ural sidecar rig....but after pondering the issues of tattoo removal, and how he was going to alter the BMW Roundel tattoos to look like the Honda Flying Wing roundel, and on skin that has been soaked in the San Diego sun....he finally gave up on my Honda Africa Twin, and decided it would be less "painful" to find a BMW rig, and not have to scrap or peel tattoos.

Hey, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Eat

Whilst this BMW rider in San Diego continues to pontificate the ins and outs, the ups and downs, the to's and fro's of buying this 2018 BMW R1200GS sidecar rig listed above (and he has a history of making slow decisions...which is why my Africa Twin rig was SOLD to someone else, whilst he procrastinated) this BEAUTIFUL 2018 BMW R1200GS, with a GSA fuel tank, and a LBS leading Link front end, and the color matched Hannigan Dualsport sidecar is now officially Up For SALE.

Don't be a Rip Van Winkle. Don't be the person that fails to buy this rig, because you were snoozing.

Michael Hall @ivarr ,my experience with these Hannigan sidecars is that they use a solid disc brake rotor, and a Brembo brake caliper on 85 percent of their sidecars.

However, I will check with the seller, and let you know exactly what brake is on the sidecar.

EDIT: to quote the seller of this rig, "It has a separate small master cylinder under the rear brake pedal. The rear brake pedal operates both the motorcycle rear and sidecar brake. "

And, the seller sent me a picture of the brake disc rotor, which shows it as a nicely drilled rotor.

@mototwin, good to see you on this side of the street. I always enjoy reading your posts on that other site.

Some of the pictures are recent, but some also show the sidecar when it was originally received from Hannigan, in the crate, and just before it was attached to the bike.

The rig is at the dealer right now, getting rear brake work done, so once he gets it back in his hands, I will tell him to send me as many pictures of it ...in its' current condition.

@FlyingMonkeys, As you know I'm still looking for a sidecar that is easy for my wife to get into and out of, and the Hannigan hatch design looks like it can work. When you post more photos include a couple with the hatch open and the interior of the car.

I have to say, pretty bold color scheme, no problem being noticed by the cage drivers.

And, for those of you "not-in-the-know"...that is the seller of this rig that posted just above me....Jim Gross @jim-g

He also sent me these additional pictures, and a little text:

He said, "I also have this never used 7 inch display Apple Car Play / Android Auto unit that plugs into the BMW GPS slot and is integrated with the BMW handlebar controls. Might as well include it as part of the deal."
