@FlyingMonkeys it's an 85 Interstate, carburated. Right now all I'm doing with it is getting it reliable, updating the shunt RR and will, before the marriage, convert the rear wheel to a 1500 16in wheel/final drive. Oh and riding it, a lot!

Miles is no hater. It's just that sometimes people get "twit"chy with the report button when they get told "No, that's not a good idea and here's why..." Gotta admit that the "new management" at "the other site" isn't what it once was.

@thane-lewis Yeah we miss FM's over on ADV, ( there I said it out loud ) Just ain't the same with out him..

Hello all and thank you for letting me aboard!
I've had a 2017 Ural GU for about four years, and recently picked up a '77 Moto Guzzi (de)Convert with a Velorex 562(?) hack. The Guzzi will be pulling a cT frame and Dnepr tub shortly, thanks to Chuck Loftin and the crew at Raceway Ural in Salem.

Welcome aboard Glenn
Glad to have you join us, get a couple more post and then you can share some pictures. I would like to see the old Guzzi

Old rider from the 70's. Looking at a couple BMW rigs. One a K1200r with a hannigan hack, the second choice is a R1150RT police bike with a traditional looking rig. Lots to learn, been leaning for decades, hoping my SCCA Sports car experience will help me make a still exciting canyon carver when the bug bites but also tour and take doggy with us.

Neil Bryant, welcome to the world of Sidecars, aka..The Third Wheel.
Where are you located ? I ask, because I know of two very fine BMW sidecar rigs in Washington State, that are both priced at less than $ 10k, and would be excellent rigs. One is in Western Washington, and the other in far Eastern Washington. Both of them are 1997 BMW K1100LT bikes, and both have European sidecars attached to them, one a EML sidecar, and the other an EZS sidecar.
Or...if you are feeling like you just need to spend more than $ 20k, there is a super...and I do mean SUPER...1994 BMW R1150GSA rig in Nor Cal, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, that has a lot of LBS sidecar work done on it (LBS of the Netherlands) and was formerly owned by Mike Paull, of LBS-USA fame.
We, the Third Wheel people are here to assist you, if you would like.

@miles-ladue I appreciate the info, and may follow up if the prime choice doesn't work out. Hoping for comfort, reliability and sportiness. Still need to see if the sidecar will be comfy enough for the missus. Let me read and learn some more before I rattle any other sellers cages. BTW: I'm located near the Aberdeen Washington area. When you're going East or West on 12 you pass less than a mile from my place.

Neil, you are Sidecarist # 314.159 that lives in The Great Pacific Northwet, as we have a lot of Third Wheel people up in this corner of the country.
I am not that far away from you, as I am about 15 miles south of Olympia.
Just...to whet you whistle, and get you interested in what else is out there, here are pictures of the other BMW rigs I mentioned.

I posted over on the "Welcome" forum but thought I would add a few notes (and a few pics) here as well.
I started riding on 2 wheels when I turned 50 based on my wife's encouragement (yeah, life insurance MAY have been a motivator), then got the 3-wheel bug a few years later when I saw a pretty little rig on some website. I started nozing around the sidecars.com site back then and bought the rig that had given me the bug (a Bonneville/Cozy). I later sold it when my big dog had trouble getting in and out but only after I had another rig (Tbird/Hannigan) that worked for him. Later bought the Bonnie Cozy back from the guy that had bought it from me and here I am...again.
We live just south of Nashville, Tennessee, and I usually reserve my sidecar rides for Christmas rides as Santa, quick jaunts into town, the Distinguished Gentlemen's ride, and so forth.
Good to be back on sidecar.com.
Aloha all,
I cant believe I've owned a Rig for 5 years and only now do I realize that there is a specific internet place for us to hang out and share stories.
I've owned a 2001 Screaming Eagle Road Glide with a Hannigan sidecar since 2019... Love it.
Its sitting at my friends shop now, getting refreshed.
I hurt my back last November. just got my MRI approved and done... There are some days I feel like I shouldn't ride again at all...
Then... I made the mistake of seeing something shiny on EBay (Damn my ADHD)
2023 Highway King with the Champion Hack. Hi Fi Orange removed link Shipping into Hawaii was a MAJOR cluster f___!
Getting the bike from FL to CA was easy... before ANY of the shippers will send it over it has to be crated.
Then transported from the crating location to the shipper.
I'm opting to air-ship the bike to Hawaii instead of boat... its not a significant amount more.
I cant wait to read and learn more.
.. and eventually get the hack here on island.
Thanks
-Rob

Welcome, Rob! Looking forward to seeing pics of your rig after a couple more posts when the software will permit you to attach pics.
Oh, and you'll make many people jealous by including pics of Pali Hwy with your rig or whichever roads and islands you terrorize with it!

Thanks Thane,
Been riding since I was a teen, so I have a few riding years under my belt.
The hack was for the dog (I keep telling myself that)
The only bad thing is not being able to lane filter with 3 wheels

I ride a 1998 Moto Guzzi California with a Hannigan hack. I have well over a million miles on motorcycles [mainly BMWs] ; but a stroke left me with sketchy balance. I have been on the Guzzi for 2 years now. My wife and Mr dog love it. I met some of you this Spring at the Sidecars in the Smokies Rally. I just returned to NC from Maine where my dog and I attended the BMWRA Rally. Great Rally and wonderful riding. I live on Pleasure Island, Off the coast of Wilmington, NC. Just a mile from the Civil War Fort, Ft, Fisher. If you are in the area, give me a shout. 910-262-2843
