Thanks .. for the encouragement  ..  weather looks pretty good south of ME for Thursday.  Have been talking with the "guy" for a couple of weeks now, so just want to go and have a look .. but just in case I'll be bringing my checkbook.  🙂

Who is the current owner off the Ural? Where is it located, etc.

It's in a heated garage as of now someplace in the Catskill mountains.

Hey Mike,  the guy selling is Tim Gibbons, found it on marketplace.  He is down in New Milford CT.  I don't think he is an original owner .. seems like I saw a Tourist that look a lot like this for sale on Long Island (NY) last year.  Address is a couple of custom auto places so I suspect he may have purchased for resale .. but at the moment I am just guessing.  We are meeting tomorrow afternoon, so I should know a lot more then.

Looking at the pictures it looks to be in nice shape except around the speedo.

Yes, I noticed that .. overall it seemed pretty clean for 17 years old .. Will be taking a mirror and flashlight so I can get a look at the bottom of the tub and frame.. We shall see.. 🙂

Happy Valentines Day .. So Mike, here's the story on the Ural ..  Tim got it from the original owner, fella in Upstate NY. He bought it in 2009 with 10 km on the clock.  The orig owner was also selling a Honda GB500 Twin Cafe, which Tim wanted, but he had to take them both to make the sale. So, yep, I bought it.  Nice condition, lower frame parts have some pitting/surface rust but are solid. Bottom of the tub, clean and solid. Starts, runs, stops. Working on transporting it from western CT to Mid-Coast Maine .. should not be an issue except for the crazy weather this winter.  Oh, and the original tool kit and hand pump are in the tub trunk.  I do believe I will become intimately familiar with a Ural Tourist this summer.

Congratulations Adolph. I hope it does everything you are wanting it to do .

Weather be damned, just drive that Ural Tourist up the coastline from Connecticut to Maine.

At 50 mph it would take me ONE day... technically LESS than 6 hours.

So, I have to ask.... whatsamatta-u?

😋

Adolph, on a serious note....you dress for the ride...get on the Ural Tourist....go.....and only stop for fuel.... period.

That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less

Stop THINKING about it.....stop giving it CONSIDERATION.....just DO IT.

Seriously, do not overthink this.

It's as simple as....dress up with your best Winter riding gear....stay dry and warm....get on the Ural Tourist....start it up, shift into gear, and 6 hours later you are home in Maine.
