So I live in NJ and am within a one day easy 10 hr ride to this. I'd like to come and I'll probably have a couple of others who'll tag along 🙂
How many people typically show up? Are there events and rides or just basically people hanging out (that's fine). What about food? Do we bring our own or is the some kind of food event/commissary there? Any input would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi Gus
We will have a catered dinner Sat. night. Sidecar games, planed rides, hanging out time, pool (onsite) along with a Pizza / ice-cream shop on site. Other food places a mile up the road. ect ect.................

Thanks Dave. The plan is to take all day Fri and ride out. Stay Fri night and all day Sat. Get up Sun am and head back home. Looks like Sat is the day to be there.
We are in the process of planning our annual open house for the same weekend as the Natioal Rally. Seeing as how our shop is within 20 miles of the KOA, it should be a nice ride if folks want to take a little side trip.
Stopped by Dave & John Heindl's shop today to talk about the rally. They are a Ural and Royal Enfield dealer, they were the 3rd largest seller of Ural sidecar rigs in the country last year.
Hey Rich, ..... do we have to pre-register for march "Y`all come" rally in silver springs FL??
Mike ......

Hello everyone. I just heard about this rally while talking with RigadoonAmy yesterday. It has been a long time since I had my 3rd wheel, but I am really excited about coming and visiting with you all.
I helped form Hoosier Hacks back in 1980-something. My rig was probably at the top of my list of bikes I never should have sold...
My rig at the time was a early BMW /2 conversion that I built that came with a Velorex 560 that was on the bike that I bought with a blown engine.
I am currently riding my '79 R65 that I have had since I bought it new in 1980. I hope you don't mind someone on "only" two wheels! 😉
I am also looking forward to visiting Heindl Engineering, and since I am a Google Map nut, I took the time to look them up (their address isn't on their website, near as I could tell) and drew a map from the KOA. I hope Dave & John don't mind!

Talk to you later!

I got, in the mail, a very nice booklit from KOA in OH the pass week.
Hi there! Me again.
I was playing around with the map I drew (above) and I came across Heaven's Corner, a "zoo" and exotic wildlife sanctuary. For those so inclined, it is not far from Heindl Engineering.
They are open from 11am - 6pm Tues. - Sat. Cost is only $9 for adults. (Cheaper than Indiana's Exotic Feline Rescue!)
Their website: http://heavenscornerzoo.org/our-animals/
And my latest version of the map showing their location: http://tinyurl.com/4w7hkxc
Don't worry - it is a safe URL. I delete spammers as a hobby. 🙁
I truly do hope I will be at the sidecar rally for the 1st time in years. Sure to see faces that I have not seen for a love time and make new friends! I'm would bring my Old Man ~ ha that's a 1978 R80BMW with a custom platform sidecar. 🙂 Miles of Smiles As Always!

Rob,
It would be great to see you at the national rally this summer. Kathy and I are planning on going there this summer. We now have a BMW/Hannigan rig. Look us up.
