Hello to all...I'm new here and have no experience/knowledge of sidecar's and am in the process of buying a 1999 562 velorex, but it doesn't have the attachment that goes under the bike, where can I locate the part's I would need for a attachment to a suzuki intruder 1500? and also I understand that there is a video/cd/dvd on the basics of sidecar driving, that would be really helpfull..sorry about being long winded, but a member of the Intruder forum suggested this site as the best to get help. Thank you again..Donnie Johnson/Perry Fl and Merry Christmas to all

That's a heavy bike for the early 562 soft suspension system.
The 562 Cruiser will work well with one and the new Tour model 562 will work even better, but the Standard 562 and 700 models with the 15mm axle and short swing-arm will wallow in the turns and not handle well unless you upgrade the suspension.
Bolt on suspension upgrades are available from our shop or from others for the heavier bikes.
I don't know of the "the attachment that goes under the bike" you mention.
The sidecars come with a four point mounting system that is U-clamp attached to the motorcycle.

For driving information: See the links on the Welcome page and follow the instructions there.

Thank you for your reply. What would a upgrade in the suspension cost? and is it a difficult process to install? Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Donnie,
By all means read th einstruction info donated by USCA co founder HAL kENDALL. The link is in my signature below and all you have to do is click on it...good info that will make a big difference.
Yes, there are some bolt on suspension upgrades out there from Sidestrider, Northwestr Sidecar and Dauntless among others. I just revamped a Velorex (added weight, installed toirsion bar suspension/tilt adjustor, car wheel and tire yadda yadda)and mounted it on a V Star with a subframe and it worked very well for the owner. Lots of options and they should be explored. I am formerly from Florida too bad you are so far away from my present home in Pa.

my email is joetoilet@gtcom.net anyone that wishes may email me on the subject of sidecar's I've never ridden/drove one, so I would say that qualify's me as knowing nothing at all. lol I'm a plumbing contractor hence the email name. I'm not to much of a wrench, well actually I know more about sidecar's than wrenching, so back to square one...so I'm also thinking of another smaller bike? any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Joe,
Depending upon your size and the projected loading that you will incur in the sidecar, just about any cruiser between 650 and 1100ccs would be a good candidate for the 562 Standard sidecar without suspension upgrades.
The higher end for freeway use and the smaller end for back roading.
For ease of installation, a conventional double loop tubular framed bike is optimal. That will eliminate the need for an expensive sub-frame.

Look in the Albums here and you will find pictures of many 562 sidecar rigs. One may catch your fancy as to which bike you may want to use for a tug. They go from inexpensive up.
