I did a search, but did not find an answer. What is the axle size on a Velo 560? Would it be suitable for use with a 400 lb bike? I know that they have been used on all types and sizes of bike, but that does not mean it is a good idea.

Thanks,
Rob

15mm, 400 lbs is only part of the equation, how wide it is, what it is going to be carrying and how heavy is the rider, how top heavy is the bike? In general, if mounted properly it should be fine however ballast may be needed.

Thanks. I had gotten the impression that a 15mm axle was small for a mid weight bike. I appreciate the input on the other variables. I realize it's a lot more than axle size.

I might put a car on my R100/7. Just noodlin' at this point.

Thanks,
Rob

With ballast and proper mounts it will work fine on a /7
The /7 does require sub frames as the frame tubing is quite thin.
We of course make sub frames.
