I have some of Jay's trees on my Kawasaki Drifter 1500, They looked like jewelry when they came out of the box. Compared to the stock black trees they definitely looked worth the coin I paid.

Jaydmc, so do your trees come with fork extensions as part of the package?
I ask about the height thing when talking to Liberty. I was told their tree will lower the bike slightly, and nothing was used to get the height back. I was told by Liberty, the lowering would actually help the steering. We were talking about 1998 Heritage, but I am guessing all HD would react somewhat the same.
any experience on this info?
The tree's we offer do come with fork extensions, The extensions are not set up to work with forks with air preload. So if your bike is one of the years that has air preload in the front forks you will not be able to use the air preload. The tree's come with new bearings.

Liberty trees aren't reworked stockers, on ElectraGlides anyway.
The 1' lower front end without 1" spacers allows great handling without a damper (a little less trail). I notice the less raked Triglides still use a damper.

Hack'n, you are correct. I just learned I was wrong and did not understand what I was told. Liberty trees are NOT reworked HD trees. I hate it when I spread wrong info! Sorry !
Just a little FYI stuff here. Everybody talks about how many degree's of rake different trees use. The key here is how much trail reduction results with the installation of the different trees. In a way the fork rake angles tell you which is less trail because the higher fork rake change also means less trail. Less trail is what makes the steering lighter. Had an employee once build a leading link that actually had negative trail. That test ride was exciting. LOL I find getting trail down around two inches is usually good for most although I have mine at one and a quarter inches. A first time rider with trail reduction as low as mine will usually take a while before they can keep it straight. I have been riding with it so long I don't even notice any more and a thousand mile day is not a problem.
Another thing is the use of fork extensions with these trees. They will work with or without just as well if aligned correctly. The two things that will be effected are that the trail is slightly different with and without extensions and also without you have a noticeable reduction in ground clearance.
The last thing I want to mention here is the use of a damper. On occasion I find a genuine need for a damper and will use one. Mostly I don't because if there is a problem playing with the alignment will usually fix it. Large companies like HD for example will always use one because it can cover up some alignment problems which makes it easier for the novice to align a sidecar good enough to work. It also keeps the liability issues down if there is a problem.
I'll try to post a picture of one I mounted today. Rides great one handed and no shake. Barry
Pavin, I just had my 2006 FLH raked. I had a set of the trike triple trees, trike chromed tubes, trike running light/turn signals... the problem was getting a light nacel... ended up that if I had gone to Bag Dad Baggers he sells a kit with HD trees and a raked Nacel.. is originally set up for the 26" tires... but works great. steers like a dream.. I had about 800 on the original fork (bought the bike/TLE used from Longhorn HD Jan 2010 in Dallas w < 15k / I am the 3rd owner) 12oo on the new set up...
anyone have experience with setting up their sidecar. the dealer set it up with a 2deg positive lean in... anyone ever set up with a 1deg neg or neutral?? the folks I ride with say at 70 and a 150# ballast the bike is still leaning in
I have mine set up at 1 percent positive lean out. Tracks perfectlywith a 180# pilot.

Sounds just awful. 🙂 By the way, experience as taught me to adjust one-thing at a time, test, then adjust one-thing, test again. If you adjust two+ things then ride, you're not sure which adjustment made the change/result.
Hey, try to come down to the East Texas Sidecar Muster in May.
