I made a hitch for the center rail, slow starter but once it is rolling all is good. Stops ok. My problem with the camper is that it is too tall to see over and wide enough that lane changes need to be done with caution.

Maybe a small rear view camera would help... Just a thought.

I thought when I posted this I was replying to another trailing question. You got me thinking in a new direction, thanks for your thoughts.

Do you think your HD has enough brakes for that trailer?

I was kind of wondering that myself. Although I have to admit I kind of like his idea of a teardrop, long trips, pull into a rest area, and have a good place to take a nap for a couple hours. Wonder if they make inertia style brakes for something like that? Not sure I would like electric brakes like I have on my big camper, more wiring, more headaches.

Not a lot of experience pulling it yet. Less than 100 mi. Trailer weighs 370 lbs. Braking seemed ok, not great but ok. Had some trouble with the hack and took it off for repair, going to leave it off for the summer so I'll have to let you know later how it works out.

I'm not positive, but I think my Kwik Kamp tent trailer weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of 370 when loaded for travel. I never pulled it with the rig because it was one of the things I sold to raise the funds for the Liberty sidecar. But I pulled it many, many miles with my Harley as a solo bike and a few Goldwings prior to the Harley. Never had a problem with braking except once. I was sitting on a slight downhill grade, a little gravel on the paved surface. I started to pull into traffic making a right turn when a cage across from me decided to turn left into the same space. When I got on the brakes to avoid an accident, the trailer pushed me slightly forward on the gravel. Caught me off guard and I dropped my bike. No damage done and still far better than getting run over by the cager who was in a bigger hurry than I was.
