Hi, folks. I recently bought a Terraplane. It has a ASCA decal on the windshield (along with Honda and HOG). Burgundy with gray insets, orange tape pinstriping. I bought it in Russellville, AR, but it had never been mounted to a tug by the seller. If anyone knows some history on it, I'd love to hear it.

I'm planning my restoration, and wanted to know if anyone has the specs, or a part number, or a link to the edge moulding. I'd like to be sure I can get a replacement before deciding whether or not to separate the fiberglass. I think I should, as there is rust visible on the frame.

The brake parts are all missing except the caliper mount. I think I'll upgrade the brake hydraulics, but am interested in an original disk and pedal assembly if anyone has one lying around.

Anyway, thanks to all for this forum, it helped me to decide which car to get, and there's plenty more info to be mined. Pic here:

Sorry, You are about 2 months to late, We had to move our storage and as Vetter hardware is not selling we sent all of the left over NOS parts to scrap. There are much better ways to do things then how Vetter did them. Their brake left a lot to be desired. Vetter used an unusual mounting system where the lower mounting arms they called pylons were specific to the bike rather then being adjustable as such the only Vetter mounts out there are for bikes that were made at the same time as your bike. We however do make a 100% bolt on kit to up date the sidecar to fully adjustable upper and lower 4 point mounts that allows the sidecar to be attached to any of our bike mounting kits.

Thanks, Jay. I can fabricate a brake pedal/mount and linkage to a master cylinder. However, the disk itself is beyond my meager shop capabilities. If anyone has the hole pattern handy, that would be great. Otherwise, it seems pulling the wheel is the first task. Perhaps I can match the mounting holes up with something from the old EBC catalog that has the hole patterns/offsets listed. Otherwise, I'll probably adapt a spare bike front wheel for which I have a disk brake setup available.

The car came with pylons and the twist-to-trim upper link. The pylons have heim joints which are threaded in with lock nuts.. enough to give a little adjustability... enough to set toe in, I think, if my bike-side mounts are close enough. I'll have to fabricate those (although your Virago mounts are tempting).

Any hints on the centerline trim/molding are still welcome!

🙂

Cool, Lonnie. I saw those from old posts, but figured they were long gone. Please send a PM with the $$ you need for them, and I'll get the tape measure out this evening to see if 16' is enough.

Thanks!

Well, It seems I need 18 feet of the trim. So, after careful measurement, this is the trim I am buying:
V30-1312B25-1 by Taco Supply: http://www.tacomarine.com/item--3-8-Opening-x-5-8-Flex-Trim--V30-1312.html
I can get 25' for just over $50.
Hope it's the right stuff!
