Subframe for R75/5 and Velorex 562E differences
I've been looking at the variety of subframes available for the BMW R75/5 and haven't been able to get good descriptions. I have a SWB. Some of the subframes I've seen have a tube that ties the frame together where the tool box goes. I would prefer to be able to use the tool box in its stock form. Can someone shed some light on the differences in the various subframes available? In addition to being able to continue to use stock parts on the bike, I also would like to try to keep the total width of the rig to under 60" (or at least not much over) in order to be able to fit it into the trailer. Being able to easily disconnect and reconnect the frame from the bike in order to fit the two in a smaller area would also be acceptable.
Haven't seen a through the toolbox mounting for 15 years.
I mount the R's without that method.

We usually run a cross brace between the frame rails back there but it can be done in such a way as to retain the toolbox. I suppose many do not do this but we admittable usually build things quite stout. Overkill? Maybe and maybe not 🙂
