Would like some more advice ---- I got the new Triple tree in today and will check with a local shop to get it installed.

My question is would it be helpfull to install stiffer springs and heavier oil in the front forks. What about a fork brace? I mean the front end will be taken off the bike to change out the "triple Tree" -- will save on labor if we were to want to do it later on...

I changed to the raked Champion triple trees. While doing so I unknowingly overfilled the fork tubes and they didn't work right after that. Yes, I know, yer s'posed ta' look at the manual to see how much oil goes in. So far, that's the only time I didn't check the manual. Anyway, I replaced the original fork innards with Progressive Suspension parts and they work great. The only difference was I couldn't use the fork extension that came with the raked kit. Haven't noticed any drawbacks to ride or clearance.

The brace that keeps both diving tubes connected and in the same line is a help, specially when you have a week front axle. So to do the job in the same wash up is agood idea.

Higher viscosity oil will stiffen the ride, spacers added above the fork springs will stiffen the ride and raise the front end a bit, a fork brace will resist "flexion" of the fork tubes.

On my light-weight Sportster rig, added 1" preload spacer to the stock springs per Lonnie's suggestion, also went up one weight in the fork oil, and have been satisfied with the results The forks will dive under extreme braking, but react well in ordinary circumstances. I haven't yet seen the need for a fork-brace (likely would help some) but your heavy double-wide rig may well be different.
