My front suspension on the Earle's L/L's (BMW R100) are getting a bit tired. I have a pair of almost new shox on the shelf in the garage, but they are 1/4 inch shorter.

My question is, would this make any difference to the steering/handleing?

Thank's Karl.

I'd think it would depend on the springs of the new shocks versus the old.
Do the current shocks show much sag or are they fully extended with the bike unloaded?
Your new shocks may hold your front end higher even though the eye to eye length is 1/4" less.

Hi Karl is it getting cold up your way yet?. the shock lenght + or - a 1/4" wont make a difference as they are changing length all the while you are riding so as long as the springs are up to the job you should be good. Hank

Thank's fellas - Think I'll just put them on and see what happen's. I know nothing about the spring rate on them, but I think by the very nature of L/L's they should'nt sag too much, but may end up a bit bouncy. They're alot shinnier anyway's LOL.

Hank41 - It's not too cold yet, just fed-up of all the rain we've had. You still got the Ural?
