Have you tried Hagon Shocks in the UK - hagon-shocks.co.uk.I have a pair on the Unit leading links front end of my Guzzi 850 Le Mans and they are great. When(if) the Koni's on the rear or the chair wear out I will be fitting Hagons.I have spoken to them on the telephone and they are always very helpful. They will custom make any shock to your spec at very little extra to an off the shelf shock.
Cheers
Dave

Call Progressive's tech line with your stock shock dimensions and they can fix you up.

Do you have one off? the dimensions are I think 12 1/2" long, 2 1/2 " around 1/2" eyes I don't remember since I am not a dealer, I'll have to by pair. Mark in NY was supposed to take care of this for me now I'm another year into it. He did set me up with the lower cup that snapped however.

We have done quite a few upgrades to Velorexes. When the old shocks are removed from the older velorex sidecar a lot of them come out in two pieces. The threaded shft falls right out of the shock body. Typically the owner will not realize this is a problem unless th erubber bumper on th eframe is gone. In that case the shock can extend farther and th einner shaft will come out of th eshock and then bend when it does no go back in the hole properly.
I had years ago used a shock scrounged out of a junk pile at a harley shop that worked okay. Dunno what it was off of though.
Today we typically convert the suspension over to a torsion bar which provides a tilt adjustor at the same time. This is a nice option but shoudk have a larger spindle insatlled when the transition is made. What some have done is to do th econversion and use a 12" wheel that fits in the stock fender okay. At a later time they have converted over to a larger wheel and swapped out the fender for one that matches the bike and fits. If the fender gets mouted onto the swingarm itself then it can be set pretty close to th etire and does look cool. Front bike fenders work in many cases.
Doug Bingham also does a shock conversion as well as others.Don't know of anyone who is doing the torsion bar other than us at this time.
Sorry for getting off track here but I wanted to show some options that can make for a great handling sidecar.
