Since was doing in-depth PM on our '95 GL1500SE/CSC FSIII rig and fixing everything I could afford to,
pulled swingarm, decided to replace 19 year-old bearings. Obtained OEM Koyo set @ local Honda dealer.
He was willing to match Partzilla's cost for Koyos and saved me $.
Now need to pull old outer races from s/a tube. Clymer manual shows use of a slide hammer puller.
Did locate Craftsman unit @ Sears online but was $126 & change. Was wondering what you folks would
recommend to get the job done, that might be lower in cost [been on ss 13 years, so $ is tight]. Any
good advice really appreciated. TTFN & RIDE SAFE ALWAYS .....Old Tom aka papasmurf in NH πŸ™‚

Many auto parts stores rent this sort of puller. Our local Napa store rather then rent them, sells them but as long as you bring it back with in a few days they will take it back. This is their "rental" in essence no charge, they just want to make sure that you bring it back. They also hope to be selling you the parts that the tool is needed for.

Why do you have to replace 19 year-old swingarm bearings? Are they bad? How many miles on the bike?
