Are there ways to add reverse to a late model Harley? I am aware of early tnaks shifters w/ reverse. Gearboxes? electri motors? etc. Thanks, Steve

There are kits available. I know Liberty Motors has installed them. I think Lonnie Cook at NW Sidecars has as well. I suspect there are many others. Google "Reverse for Harley's" There will be no shotage of options.

Fly,
I put a reverse on my Turbocharged Evo RK rig. Took about 10 hours since I had to unmount and remount the Spyder sidecar also.
I used it twice in the first year. Both times burning the S*** out of my hand since the shift handle was poorly placed and not adjustable.
Both times I had to shut the bike off, put it in neutral, shift into reverse, start up the bike, back up, shut the bike off, take it out of reverse, fire the bike up again, shift into 1st gear and be on my way. Real handy if you're short of leg and long on money.
A learning experience, yes. A good investment (for me), no. Will I use one again? Not unless I lose the ability to push a rig backward.

My experience, your's may differ.

Lonnie

We install these all the time and find that they work out well. Once the exaust system is off the bike (not required on all models) it only takes a couple of hours to install the reverse. Some models do require a differnt exaust system. Some soft tails require different oil lines.
