Northwest Sidecars now has an associate sidecar installer in house (to do the heavy lifting).
Due to health limitations I've been unable do much more than consultation and light fabrication for the last year.
Now we can install what we sell in most cases. We still won't install sidecars on full bodied bikes.

Free advice on DIY mountings and alignment of your rig is still offered as in the past 7 days a week, 9:00 to 9:00 MST.

Hi Lonnie, I've been riding a little over 10 years now; mainly love the camping road trips on the usual V-twins (Shadows, Nomad, Vulcan 900) but currently have a 2000 Concours C-10. At 68 years old, its time to either get off or move to 3 wheels. The Connie is too much for me, but before I sell it I would like to consider it for a sidecar conversion. I'm aware that it does not lend itself well to this conversion because it needs a subframe. However... I am willing to take on that project (fabricating a subframe) IF this will make a good sidecar rig. If not, I will give up the Connie and look to buy a sidecar rig already set up. But it only seems to makes sense to start with the bike I have if its a good choice for a conversion. The Connie is a great bike but I'm not sure it will be wise to use it for a sidecar platform.

So what do you think? Start a conversion project, or look for another bike?

For what its worth: 1) money IS a consideration 2) camping road trips will always be the primary goal (I even think a utility/cargo hack would do) but an occasional passenger (e.g. grandchild) might be fun 3) primary roads will be paved/freeway other than side roads access to campgrounds, etc. 4) riding style will be leisurely... or geezerly... however you look at it.

Thanks for the input.

The Concours have been converted for sidecar use. The 1 liter motor has plenty of pulling power. If the bike is comfortable for you, why not convert it to a tug?
If you are capable of fabricating your own Sub-frame mounts, your biggest outlay would be for a used sidecar large enough for the 650# bike.
The only used sidecar we have in stock is a Terraplane ($1,800.) which would be a good match sizewise for the Connie.
