need pictures of Harley flhtc mounts

I am fabricating mounts for a sidecar on a 94 flhtc or other flt series bike. I have some ideas on how to build the brackets. I don't want to over build which is where I am afraid I am headed. If anyone could post some pictures of the factory 3 point mounts on a bike to give me some idea of what loading can go where it would really help. I hate to reinvent the wheel, it has been reinvented so many times before. I'd appreciate any pictures of any aftermarket 4 point mounts too.

dont use the factory 3 point mount..if that front mount ever lets go you will be in deeep DooDoo!!
also, dont be concerned about 'overdoing it..'when in doubt, build itr stout', is an old SC proverb...
also, use Clevis and eye bolt type mounts.the best.

why dont you just go get a copy of the parts pic from the dealer.

the factory ones are nearly indestructable and time tested steel castings.

besides, the frame is designed for a sidecar load at the factory points - liberty uses the same points but adds a fourth point.

I must concur. If you are mounting a home-built or other non-Harley sidecar to a Harley FL frame, the stock mounts would be the best starting point. They are pricey when new but are often found on eBay.

If you want four points, you could weld on a mounting nut like the Liberty sidecar uses for the FL frame.

The Harley mounts are quite heavy duty and are really quite complex. It would be difficult to copy them effectively.

Joe,
Motorvation Engineering has been kind enough to display their Harley FLH/FLT mountings and a diagram of their propriatory sub-frame on their web site.
Give it a look.
The sub-frame only can be purchased from them (or us) for a reasonable sum.

Thanks guys. I actually have a drawing of the HD mounts. Just doesn't do it for me though. Somehow the lined drawing never give you the perspective that a photo does.
There is a small block that has me stumped in the drawing of the rear mount. Would like to see how it is used. I am also trying to determine how low the front mounts clamp on and how large the jack screw is between them.

I have a drawing of a motivation subframe and some pictures from their web site. Nice stuff.

the jack screw is 1/2" course thread - 3/4" wrench fits it - ht is 1/16" above the regulator [put a 1/6" shim in, assemble the mount & if you can still pull the shim out with little force its right]

block at rear mount?????? that sounds like a shovel head rear mount - late 50's thru 83 or so.

84 to 90 something it is a 3 hole cast plate with two ears on it and after that a sucsession of 2 bolt steel forgings that all look the same but have different shapes on the bike side to match the variations in the rubber swing arm bushing.

the pictures are also in the manuals. & on the dealer tech computer screens.
